The smell of freshly made beignets, the sight of wrought-iron fenced balconies, and the sound of horse hooves pulling a carriage — what comes to mind? New Orleans? Not quite — we’re still in Disney World!
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter is one of spots themed after the popular tourist destination and its surrounding areas (the other being Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside). Port Orleans French Quarter is inspired by the sights and sounds of the New Orleans Jazz scene and features a Mardi Gras-themed pool, Jazz club, and even horse-drawn carriage rides! If you’ve ever wondered what the rooms look like inside this resort, you’re in luck — we’re taking you on a room tour of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter!
Today, we’re taking a tour of a Standard View Room at Port Orleans French Quarter. This room features 2 Queen-Size beds and sleeps up to 4 adults. Let’s take a peek at what you see when you open the door.
And, in case you want to know what the room door looks like, we snagged a photo of that too.
Next to the room door is the room’s lonely window…
… here’s what it looks like with the curtains drawn…
… and the air-conditioning unit.
Also just inside the door is a small table with two chairs as well!
And of course, the television and dresser are along that wall, as well as a shelf with hooks and a bench.
The dresser features three drawers for storage, along with a mini-fridge…
… and this is where you’ll find the coffee maker and ice bucket as well.
There are two queen beds in this room, with a shared nightstand in between.
The nightstand is where you’ll find outlets, USB ports, a telephone, and even more storage for your stay.
Now, onto the bathroom! There isn’t technically a door to the sink area of the bathroom, which is pretty common in Disney Resort hotel rooms.
But don’t worry, there IS a door where it counts, the shower and toilet area.
Let’s take a look inside, shall we? There are some extra towels hanging above the toilet…
and there’s also a small trash can on the ground.
Inside the shower, you’ll find H2O bath products…
… plus a pretty fancy-lookin’ shower head!
The shower/tub combo offers about as much room as you’d expect, but you’d be able to wash the park day off of a sticky kid or two easily! Okay, it may not always be that easy… .
On the opposite side of the shower is the room’s closet, which features an iron and ironing board, hangers, waste bins, and an extra pillow and blanket!
Inside the closet is also where you’ll find the safe for your valuables.
On the double vanity you’ll find common Disney Resort hotel sights like H20 bath products and tissues…
… and underneath offers plenty of storage for your items, plus more towels.
The mirror above the vanity is a decent size, and there’s an extendable magnifying mirror, too!
And, there you have it! Now you know what the Standard View Room looks like at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter. The rates for this room start around $315 per night but are always subject to change and will fluctuate based on your chosen dates.

I appreciate that standard linens across all resorts makes things much easier for both housekeeping and procurement. Still, I’m a teensy bit disappointed at the loss of the bedspreads printed with Mardi Gras beads, Harlequin, and hidden Mickey balloons. My favorite WDW resort rooms could now be in any hotel in any city, from the looks of them.

As a 30+ year Disney veteran, POFQ is my favorite resort. I miss the Disney themed Linens. Those little touches of Disney magic are disappearing little by little all over the “world”.

stayed at French Quarter during Christmas a few months ago. The rooms are pretty bland. They are clean but very neutral, nothing on the room suggests anything special or Disney. I liked the resort it is small and nothing is all too far from anything.
I was disappointed that there was no theming in the rooms, no bed runners, no Disney type wall hangings or such. Yet it was what you might expect to be exactly like a room in New Orleans
Like POR the boat connection to Disney Springs is great (also can be used to hop over to POR) The Bus station is very small and very crowded in the mornings. ( But while we were there is was for French Quarter only both pick up and return, which was much better that or time at POR when the two resorts shared the same bus.
All said and done it is a nice resort and great for adults who want to be away from the more crowded busy and often kid filled Value and Moderate resorts. But if you are just looking for a place to sleep between Park visits it is no different from All Star Movies room wise and the Value resorts are more that one hundred a night cheaper.
The pool at POFQ is a bit nicer that the value resorts, The dining area is small but they do have those special mickey shaped doughnuts that only French Quarter has.
Bottom line is Check out each Resort Hotel if you are staying on property, Look at what each offers and what your goals are. How much time you will spend at your hotel and or room. If you are going to spend the high fees Disney charges for staying on property be sure to get what will best suit you and your family. Research what each resort has to offer. I have tried to stay at a different resort for each visit and I assure you some are better than others and it has nothing to do with the price

I stayed here the first week of March for 8 days, it was a blast. We had a pool view room and we were in the middle of everything ate benigets three days for breakfast and the kids wanted to get in the pool every day. They had a parade and a dance party in Mardi Gras! With Tiana and all her pals. So much fun. The boat to Disney springs was magical in the evening. Only down side is the walls are super thin. Didn’t really affect us because we were so tired we could sleep through anything but something to consider.

How often did they make up your room? I was told beds only get made up every 4th day if your there 8 days or more and that’s across the whole property. I can’t imagine paying for a room at the Grand Floridian or Polly coming back and not having my bed made up at those prices, even $300/night for POFQ and hardly any housekeeping.

Nice, but since the All Stars were updated, the rooms at Music were just as attractive, if a few square feet smaller. Two queen beds (one Murphy-style that folds down over the attached large table), sliding doors on dressing room and bath, glass tub enclosure, modern sink area with magnifying makeup mirror, hair dryer and many shelves, clean bare floors, glass front cooler, coffeemaker, and large TV. Still wouldn’t mind trying POFQ once, looks so nice and has some interesting food choices.

Charles Thorne………We stayed a week, Room service came into the room ONCE..
In fact we found a child’s coat on a walkway and placed in on a pillar at the end of the Building area by the full room service cart. The coat was till there when we checked out.

No housekeeping. They said they’d come every two days, second week of March. They just replaced towels and took out trash. Didn’t sweep, never made beds…nothing.
But the last day we were there they knocked at 8 am to clean the room!
I like the resort and I know they are short-staffed but this isn’t acceptable for the price.
I stayed at the Hard Rock at Universal and it was super cleaned every day.

Lisa…… I was told it’s not a staffing issue when I spoke with a housekeeping manager. He said it was coming down from Corporate because of Covid. I called BS because I had just been in a park with thousands of others.
I told him it looked to be another way to cut services and make more $$$.
