Ever wondered what it would be like to eat like Oprah Winfrey? Well, you can come CLOSE to it in Disney World (kind of)!
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is located in Disney Springs and is owned by — as you might guess — Chef Art Smith who has cooked for some big names like Oprah and President Barack Obama and competed on Iron Chef America and Chopped All Stars on The Food Network in the past. Here you’ll find all the southern comfort food you could ever want (including a moonshine bar!), but soon you won’t have to head to Disney World to try some of the chef’s signature dishes!
Last year, we learned that Chef Art Smith would be opening his first restaurant at the Orlando International Airport called Sunshine Diner in Summer 2022 and now he has revealed some details about the menu!
According to The Orlando Sentinel, Smith is looking to “bring back the American diner” but, not in the way that we might think when we hear the word “diner.” His plans involve more than just cheeseburgers, fries, and milkshakes!
Smith shared that the “modern-day diner” menu will feature a “full bar, fresh fruit and key lime pie” among many other things. He also noted that “Diners of old were more meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and roast beef, and hamburgers and patty melts and things like that. I love all that stuff, but we’re going to have a lot of healthier options, too. We’re going to have plant-based options.”

Dfb, you truly have a strange way of looking at things. You mention that soon I won’t have to head to Disney to try out some Art Smith Cuisine.
Instead, I guess, I can head over to OIA, or where ever my closest airport, pay for parking… or my Uber driver, and head in to buy a plane ticket. Depending on where I live I may have a lengthy flight full of connections or maybe I am lucky and live in Orlando, either way, this is the only way I will have access to the new terminal where this restaurant will be located.
Hopefully this terminal is somewhere in the path to/from my assigned gate because most airport security will not let you enter a terminal, concourse, etc. unless your flight departs/arrives from there.
But hey, like you said… I won’t have to head over to Disney Springs… so there’s that.

Just a ‘shot’ in the dark! We were there at Sunshine Diner-the Orlando airport and my wife forgot her eyeglasses somewhere. She remembers using them to read the menu! Thank you! And yes, we enjoyed the food & service@ Sunshine Diner Orlando airport!

Hi Ron! I updated your comment just to remove your personal information to keep you safe, but I would reach out to the airport concessions company if I were you to see if they can get in contact with Sunshine Diner to see if it’s at all possible to retrieve your wife’s glasses. Here is the contact website: https://www.mca-airports.com/contact/
Good luck!
