To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
As the global pandemic continues to change, so do local and federal government guidelines regarding health and safety.
With so many evolving protocols and rules, it can be difficult to stay on top of it all. The most recent adjustment in guidelines comes from the Disney Cruise Line, with updated policies regarding cruise ships that sail to and from Canada — let’s check out everything you need to know.
According to Disney, the government of Canada “requires all cruise passengers to take a COVID-19 test before disembarking the ship in Canada.” This requirement began on March 14th, 2022, and is enforced by the Disney Cruise Line.
Additionally, before sailing from or entering Canada, guests must create a profile with ArriveCan, which can be done online or through the ArriveCan app. The Disney website states that “Canada requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for travelers 12 years of age and older. Proof of vaccination and travel & citizenship documents can be saved in your ArriveCAN traveler profile before any planned travel.”
The ArriveCAN app will allow you to upload the required information such as proof of COVID-19 vaccination, citizenship documents, details of your trip, and additional questions regarding guest health. Other details including contact information, travel details, and proof of a COVID-19 test result must be added within 72 hours of guests’ arrival in Canada.
If guests’ voyages are longer than 72 hours, they will need to submit this information during their sailing or upon their arrival in Canada. Once guests complete the necessary steps using ArriveCan, they will get a receipt that shows “proof of completion.” This receipt is what guests will present to authorities upon arrival.
