It’s an exciting time for Disneyland Paris right now — do you know why?!
Because they’re celebrating their 30th anniversary! There are all kinds of things going on at the resort for the festivities, like new character costumes, a drone show, a new garden, and more. But, the surprises aren’t stopping, because Disney just announced a whole new transformation happening soon at Disneyland Paris!
There is already an expansion happening at Disneyland Paris for its Walt Disney Studios Park, and the Disneyland Hotel royal transformation is in progress as well, but now, Disney Village will also be getting a whole new look! Disney Village is the retail, dining, and entertainment complex between the theme parks and Disney hotels. So, think of it like the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in California!
Disney just announced that Disney Village will start a phased transformation by the end of this year. This reimagined Disney Village will “celebrate timeless, family-friendly environments that are uniquely Disney.” During the day, there will be “stylish boutiques and innovative restaurants” and at night, “thousands of lights will transform the area into a bustling wonderland.” So, we’ll be seeing some new dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings!
When the transformation is finished, Disney Village will have a new lakeside park and boardwalk, enhanced pedestrian walkways, brand-new facades, lush landscaping, and relaxing terraces and patios. New dining and retail options will bring “innovative concepts from some of the world’s most exciting brands for a completely enhanced experience complementing the theme parks.”
“We’re very excited to bring new iconic and timeless concepts to the district that will appeal to a new generation of guests, whether they visit from our nearby resort hotels or from the local area. We can’t wait for our guests to be surprised and delighted by what we have in store,” said Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris.
We also have a first look at some of the plans! The first step in the transformation is a new contemporary French brasserie replacing the current Café Mickey restaurant. The name of the new eatery is Rosalie, which will open in 2023. It will be a two-floor restaurant with 500 seats and celebrate renowned French “Art de Vivre” and classic cuisine in a modern yet elegant setting.
This spot will have both table service and counter service available, with the counter service offering French bakery-inspired options like pastries, sandwiches, and salads. And, there will be expanded terraces looking over Lake Disney.
