Disney World is starting to get closer and closer to pre-pandemic “normal.”
We’re seeing some of the plexiglass barriers start to disappear around the parks and hotels, face mask mandates are changing, and the last Disney World hotel finally reopened. Now, Disney just announced another returning program that will bring some serious changes to EPCOT!
Disney Programs just announced on their Instagram page that the Disney Cultural Representative Program is returning soon!
This program hires people from around the world to work in the EPCOT World Showcase pavilions, with Cast Members working in the pavilion that represents their home country.
The Cultural Representative Program was temporarily suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic. Other Disney World Cast Members have filled the roles in World Showcase in the meantime, but now the program is finally coming back. Disney said that the program will be returning in phases.
Currently, “participants from select countries whose 2020 program was shortened or canceled [are] now being offered the opportunity to apply.” These participants should have received an email today with more details about the next step in their application process.
Disney said they will release more updates about Disney International Programs in the future, so we’ll be watching for more information about new applicants to this program.
UPDATE: Now, students from select countries can work in Disney World for the summer! Disney shared another update for International Programs participants, this time focusing on the Cultural Exchange Program!
In their latest Instagram post, Disney announced, “Come spend your summer at Walt Disney World immersing yourself in different cultures and learning from some of the most talented entertainment and guest service professionals in the industry!” Applications are open now for students to spend their school break working at Disney World.
We’re excited for more international Cast Members to return to EPCOT! Keep following DFB for more of the latest Disney news.

Yes! Very exciting!

That’s fantastic; my wife always loves speaking German with the cast members in the Germany pavilion.

Sorry to rain on the parade but a new Covid-19 sub variant has started to spread in New York City and with so many people traveling over Spring Break it’s just a matter of time before other parts of the country are affected and mandates are applied again.
If you don’t believe me you can look it up online. After all who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?
Ken says
About time. I enjoy visiting the pavilions and learning about the country.

AWESOME!! This was a major “flavor” thing with EPCOT. Going there and finding a bunch of bored college kids complaining about how little money they made in Germany & the UK was funny but not what I come to EPCOT for, lol.

I was saddened to see that cast members no longer wear Colonial costumes. The Voices of Liberty reminded me of a production of Up with People
(Google it) and the attraction cast members looked like tour guides at the U.S. Capital

This is great; I’ve always enjoyed meeting people from the different countries. It’s one of the things that makes world showcase so interesting.
