You can have all kinds of different experiences at Disney World restaurants, from character sightings to your food being lit on fire (yeah, really!).
There are even some restaurants where the servers are a bit sassy, like 50s Prime Time Cafe and Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. Another spot where you could find this was Whispering Canyon Cafe in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, but we haven’t seen all of the fun shenanigans from servers since before the pandemic began — UNTIL NOW!
The awesome antics are BACK at Whispering Canyon Cafe!
If you don’t know, this restaurant traditionally has some hilarious servers who will liven up your dining experience with some jokes, jabs, and just all around over-the-top interactions. Most of this was dialed back though when the restaurant reopened after Disney World’s initial closures for the global pandemic. The servers were still being fun and sassy, but we didn’t see the full-scale antics that Whispering Canyon is known for.
But, when we visited today, more of the fun has returned!! When we asked for some ketchup at breakfast, we got a TON of bottles from other people eating in the restaurant!
We’re not sure if this is going to be enough 😅

The server also threw down a bunch of straws on our table when we only asked for one!
When one guest near us was on their phone when the server brought their drinks to the table, the server yelled for everyone to be quiet in the restaurant because they were on the phone. Then another server yelled to order them a pizza before they hung up and another said to put it on speaker so everyone could say hello!
One of the other great things that’s back is the comical sizes of drink refills they’ll give you. Sometimes they’ll give you a teeny tiny mason jar of your drink as a refill or an ENTIRE GALLON of your drink in a giant mason jar! Our server brought us both. 😂
We should’ve known better when asking for a refill 👀
Thanks Cast Member Jeff 😂

The servers just generally love to give everyone a hard time at Whispering Canyon, in the most fun way! If you drop your fork on the ground, they’ll go grab you another one, and bring out a HUGE fork — they’re really into some ridiculously sized dining items over here!
We also witnessed one server singing a lovely version of “So Long, Farewell” from The Sound of Music to guests as they were leaving! All of this fun is in addition to the delicious food here, like the Burnt End Nachos.
We petition to make this the ✨official✨ Breakfast of Champions 🏆

We’re so happy almost all of the fun is back at Whispering Canyon Cafe! We still didn’t see any of the famous pony rides around the restaurant (yep, like on the toy stick ponies), but here’s to hoping they’ll come back again, too. If you like to be entertained while eating your meal, or just want a more unique dining experience, go on over to Wilderness Lodge to check this spot out. And, stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World food news and updates!

Have you ever been a part of the fun antics at Whispering Canyon Cafe? Let us know in the comments!
A great dining experience, I have enjoyed the Whispering Canyon Cafe many times and was for along time my 2nd choice for on property dining behind O’hana’s. (At least you can get in, O’hana’s is almost impossible) Anyway, the breakfast is great, ranked up there with the top breakfast locations, again just under O’hana’s. Beyond that, I wish they would bring back the commemorative menu that they used to have when the Whispering Canyon first opened. It was one of the most unique guest experiences I have ever enjoyed. When you were seated, you waited presented you with a period looking old time newspaper where the menu was printed within the pages. The headline on page one would read something like “Jones Family Comes to the Canyon” or some such statement. If your name was Jones, it would be printed on page one, and through out the paper in different articles and stories. If your name was Smith, the same, and so on. When you made your dining reservation, you would have to give your name. The WC would take your name and add it to a standardized log in process, and viola, a custom menu would be printed for your table. What a fabulous idea, and it all came to you via Michael Eisner and Frank Wells who were in charge of Disney at that time. Back when guest focus was in full force and the DREAM pin was in full force. DREAM stood for D-Disney, R-Resort, E-Experiences, A-Are, M-Magical. What a great restaurant idea they should revise.
