It may only be April 1st, but Disney World is already celebrating Easter with new treats, an egg hunt, giant chocolate eggs, and more!
While we’ve been busy trying all the new springtime goodies, we visited Disney’s BoardWalk for not one, not two, but THREE new April drinks! And y’all — marshmallow PEEPS are involved.
The Easter Hunt — Leaping Horse Libations
We first visited Leaping Horse Librations, the pool bar located at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. The new featured April drink is The Easter Hunt, made with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Midori Liqueur, and Pina Colada Mix for $15. The sign says the drink is garnished with Maraschino Cherries, but our garnishments were Jelly Beans and a Peep.
This is a perfect poolside drink! It’s very sweet with the Midori (melon liqueur), coconut rum, and Pina Colada mix, but on a hot day, it would be very refreshing. We loved the Peep and the jelly beans, but the jelly beans will harden fast in the frozen drink, so if you want to eat them, make sure you remove them after you snag your cute poolside picture!
The drink is also garnished with green sugar, and we recommend stirring your drink to blend all the flavors together! Leaping Horse Libations opens at 11AM daily.
Easter Basket — Boardwalk Joe’s
The Easter Basket is another frozen drink that comes with a Peep and Jelly Beans, made with Empress Gin, Bols Creme de Banana Liqueur, Grenadine, and Pineapple Smoothie for $16. You can find this April drink at BoardWalk Joe’s.
This drink was SO good. We thought the colorful layers in the drink were really fun, but we opted to mix it up so that the gin and banana liqueur were blended into the pineapple smoothie. Our reporter who tried this is not a big gin drinker, but they loved it! It wasn’t too sweet, yet still fruity and refreshing. The purple color comes from the Empress Gin, and the banana mixed with the pineapple really works.
BoardWalk Joe’s opens at 12PM, and keep our jelly bean warning in mind for this drink too — if you leave them in the drink too long, they’re not really edible!
Cotton Tails Daiquiri — The Belle Vue Lounge
Our final drink comes from the Belle Vue Lounge, located off the lobby of the BoardWalk Inn. The Cotton Tails Daiquri is made with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Chambord Liquer, Pure Cane Syrup, Lime Juice, and Raspberry Juice, and garnished with an Orange Peel for $13.
Now this is a gorgeous drink! We thought that the spiced rum and Chambord worked beautifully together with the mixture of the raspberry flavor from the Chambord and the raspberry juice. The lime juice cuts the flavors a bit and adds to the spiciness coming from the rum, and the pure cane syrup gives it some sweetness. This is a fun spin on a daiquiri and feels more like you’re sipping on a martini!
And again, we’re here to tell you to stir your drink! It’s so pretty with the layers, but you want to taste all the flavors together. Grab your picture for the ‘gram and then stir away to bliss! The Belle Vue Lounge typically opens around 4 or 5PM.
Overall
While The Easter Hunt is perfect for the pool, it was a bit too sweet for us. The Cotton Tail and the Easter Basket surprised us, and we really enjoyed them both! Try one or all three of these drinks in April on Disney’s BoardWalk, and keep following DFB for more Disney snack and drink news!
