No one likes losing stuff at Disney World.
Thankfully, Disney has a pretty good lost and found system to help get your items back to you. However, not everyone who loses something at Disney World goes back to retrieve it. If it’s something small and not too valuable, people just cut their losses sometimes. The Vice President of Disney’s Animal, Science, and Environment department just shared what happens with some of those lost items.
If you’ve ever left your perfume at Disney World, be it a park, hotel, or even Disney Springs, it might be used in a pretty unexpected way. Dr. Mark Penning recently shared what Disney does with perfume from the lost and found!
Turns out, big cats love investigating the smell of perfume and cologne! Cast Members will spray the tiger habitats in Disney’s Animal Kingdom with perfume to encourage them to explore the area using their natural instincts. Cast Members started donating unwanted bottles, but then the Lost and Found team found out about it and started donating unclaimed bottles of perfume!
We would have never guessed that Animal Kingdom gets sprayed down with our lost perfume. At least it’s not going to waste, and we’re glad the big cats at Disney World get some enjoyment out of it!
