If you plan on flying to Disney World today, you may need to check your flight status ASAP.
We recommend keeping a close eye on your flight status flying into and out of Orlando International Airport. Delays happen, cancellations occur, and weather often causes problems. Today, though, one airline is having some technical issues that have resulted in over 100 Orlando flights being canceled.
If you plan on flying to or from Orlando today and you’ve booked a flight on Southwest Airlines, be sure to check your flight status immediately. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Southwest Airlines has canceled 72 flights inbound and 43 outbound flights at the airport today.
But Southwest’s recent issues aren’t just affecting Orlando. The company took to social media last night announcing that it was experiencing flight disruptions due to an “intermittent technology issue” across their network. Southwest recommends that passengers check their flight status and contact the airline for rebooking options.
We offer our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience, and we will continue to work with Customers who experience a disruption in their travel plans.

If your flight is canceled, contact Southwest immediately to make other arrangements. Be sure to be aware of the airline’s cancelation policies because you may be entitled to a refund for your ticket or some other form of compensation. If the cancellation results in your next flight being the next day and you need an overnight stay, you could be compensated for a night at a hotel — be sure to check with a representative.
Southwest’s issues are expected to be resolved by tomorrow, but even if things resume as normal, it’s a good idea to stay on top of your flights, no matter when you’re traveling.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on anything that might impact your Disney World vacation, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more.

It’s not just Southwest. My mother-in-law just had back to back flights canceled on American. She can’t fly out till Thursday at the earliest. Truly a mess but we’re glad she’s stuck here vs at her connecting airport.
