We may only be a few months into 2022, but plans for the 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend are already underway!

Not long ago we learned that the dates for this weekend are January 4th to 8th, 2023, and now the official theme for the race has been announced! The DFB team has already been making plans to join the race because of the theme, and even some of us who aren’t runners want to join! We can’t resist a chance to travel back to the 1990s. 👀
The theme for the runDisney 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is Retro ’90s! Why? runDisney turns 30 in 2023, and it’s time to celebrate its birth year! We’re talking 1980s/1990s patterns (triangles and wiggly lines, anyone?) and bright colors. The 2023 Marathon Weekend is presented by State Farm.

Every race gets a touch of retro ’90s details, and the Walt Disney World 5K is themed to Pluto…

…the 10K is themed to Chip ‘n’ Dale…

…the Half Marathon is themed to Daisy and Donald…

There are also two challenges runners can opt to complete, including Goofy’s Race & a Half (39.3 miles)…

General registration for the 2023 Marathon Weekend opens on April 19th, 2022, but Club runDisney Gold and Platinum Members can begin registering on April 12th. Maybe we’ll see you there? Keep reading DFB for more Disney World and runDisney news!
