There’s a new ice cream spot coming to Disney Springs this year and we are SO excited.
What makes it such an anticipated shop? It’s Salt & Straw! Salt & Straw is an ice cream shop that’s known for scooping up unique ice cream flavors made with local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. There’s already a location in Disneyland, and now we’re taking a look at some of the flavors we’re MOST looking forward to seeing in Disney World.
That’s right, we’re RANKING the best Salt & Straw flavors. Now, Salt & Straw has a core menu and seasonal flavors, both are subject to change. So, for our ranking, we’re using the current Disneyland Salt & Straw menu as a guide! Since these flavors are already served in Disneyland, we think they have a good chance of coming to the Disney World location.
Salt & Straw has confirmed that two flavors from the Disneyland list WILL be on the menu in Disney World — the Honey Lavendar and Chocolate Gooey Brownie. And, some Florida-specific flavors will be coming too including The Salty Donut Guava & Cheese and Panther Coffee Chocolate Tres Leches.
So, let’s rank the TOP 7 Salt & Straw flavors that COULD come to Disney World!
7. Honey Lavender
Coming in as the lowest on our list of bests is the Honey Lavender. This flavor was ranked highly by Los Angeles Magazine. It’s earned its spot in the Top 7 thanks to its delicate combination of flavors. The floral quality might be a bit much for some (otherwise, it would be ranked higher) but the Honey Lavender is a STAPLE of the Salt & Straw offerings.
Salt & Straw describes this flavor by saying, “Oregon-grown Lavender petals are carefully steeped in Honey to extract that perfect floral flavor. We are proud to use Bee Local Honey in this Ice Cream, their Honey is harvested from urban hives all around Portland resulting in flavor that is unique and changing throughout the year.”

6. Freckled Mint TCHO-colate Chip
Next up on our list is the Freckled Mint TCHO-colate Chip — and this one is actually VEGAN! Yep, a non-dairy ice cream has made our ranking of the bests. This classic flavor with a twist is great for plant-based eaters and dairy-lovers alike. It’s so minty and creamy, it’s hard to notice that it doesn’t have any milk! And we know this one is so popular because it’s actually one of Salt & Straw’s BEST sellers.
On the menu, this one is described, “Coconut and pure Oregon Mint Oil coalesce into a delicate, floral Ice Cream, freckled with Organic Chocolate from bean-to-bar pioneer Theo.”

5. Double Fold Vanilla
Coming in at fifth place is another Salt & Straw best-seller, the Double Fold Vanilla! Sure, plain old vanilla might be on the more basic side of Salt & Straw flavors but this is a VERY good vanilla. Plus, it’s perfect for pairing with more unique options! With such wide appeal, this one has certainly earned its spot.
“Made with Singing Dog Vanilla from Eugene, OR. ‘Double Fold’ means that they use twice as many Vanilla Beans to pack an amazing Vanilla punch,” the menu says, “But the really good sounding part is that they not only pay a fair price for Vanilla but also give a percent of the proceeds back to farmers when the product sells in the US. It’s great Ice Cream, doing something great.”

4. Chocolate Gooey Brownie
You might not be too surprised that a flavor called Chocolate Gooey Brownie has made our top picks. After all, chocolate lovers have BIG feelings. This flavor is another of Salt & Straw’s best-sellers and it’s ranked highly due to its SUPER chocolatey flavors and those ooey-gooey textures.
The menu says of this one, “This is Chocolate Ice Cream at its simplest and most indulgent. We’ve teamed up with Valrhona to make a base that is rich, dark, fudgy, and chocolatey. Our in-house baked, gooey Brownies have Marshmallows baked into them to create a Brownie that treads awfully close to the point of being Fudge.”

3. Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons
Another rich flavor with a LOT of fans is the Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. You guessed it, our third place champ is a best seller on the Salt & Straw list too! The super sweetness from the caramel is tempered by the perfect bite of saltiness. For caramel fans, this one is hard to pass up.
This flavor was another collaboration! Salt & Straw says, “We created this Ice Cream with Mark Bitterman, the owner and “selmelier” at The Meadow, the internationally renowned Portland Salt shop. He actually wrote the book on Salt, Salted, a James Beard Award-winning cookbook. We use their Fleur de Sel, which is made in Guatemala from Salt pans that are famed for supplying the Mayan Empire at the height of its power. We’ve topped it off by ribboning in Hand-burned Caramel that we make in-house!”

2. Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Coming in SECOND PLACE, we have the Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. We can’t say we’re too surprised that a cookie dough-based creation is one of the most popular Salt & Straw flavors. This perfectly sweet and slightly salty flavor is a best seller of ALL the flavors at Salt & Straw!
“Rich, chunky bites of chewy salty and malty Homemade Cookie Dough,” the menu says, “Mixed into a super Vanilla-y Ice Cream and finished with licks of Malted Fudge Swirls.”

1. Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper
In first place, we have one of Salt & Straw’s more unique staples — the Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper. This one bagged first place for a few reasons. For one, we had to give the top spot to a creative flavor (that’s kind of Salt & Straw’s whole deal!). AND, this flavor was rated the SECOND BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY by the Food Network!
This one is described, as “A Strawberry triple threat. We steal a trick from the Italians, using Balsamic and citrusy Cubeb Black Pepper to help coax out the fruit’s acidity and brightness.”

Former Favorites!
But we’re not quite done calling out the Salt & Straw bests. That might be the core ranking, but we wanted to call out a few seasonal selections and former favorites that might NOT be on the Disneyland menu right now — but did WOW us when they were.
Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey
Yep, you read that right. In 2018, Salt & Straw released a TURKEY flavor ice cream and we gave it a try. The Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey was shockingly our favorite of the fall flavors at the time.
It was made with a mix of buttery Turkey Brittle and Turkey Fat Caramel Ice Cream. It didn’t taste like true turkey and instead had a buttery saltiness to it that was SO GOOD. We’d love to see this one pop up in Disney Springs around Thanksgiving!

Eclipse’s Cardamom Rose Chocolate
Another seasonal flavor that still lives in our memories rent-free is the Eclipse’s Cardamom Rose Chocolate. This flavor was available for Valentine’s Day in 2019 and it WOWED us with an unexpected texture and a beautiful mingling between the rose and the chocolate.
This one was modeled after Eclipse’s Cardamom Rose Petal-infused Drinking Chocolate with swirls of Chocolate and Rose Ice Cream plus Cardamom Spice and Cacao Nib Ice Cream.

Apple Pie with Beecher’s Flagship Cheesecake Ice Cream
In 2020, Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival offered up a limited-time flavor from Salt & Straw. That’s when we tried out the Apple Pie with Beecher’s Flagship Cheesecake Ice Cream. This cup was a GREAT flavor combo…so decadent!
Salt & Straw describes this flavor as, “Swirls of magically gooey, cinnamon-y traditional Apple Pie Filling partner with ultra-flaky crisps of buttery Pie Crust. The star of the show: Beecher’s Flagship Cheese, made by our dear friends in Seattle, is gently melted into cream to provide an almost nutty, salty ice cream.”

Snap and Crackle Marshmallow Treats
And finally, we just recently tried out a whole FLIGHT of popular cereal flavors from Salt & Straw. Though there were four flavors included, we loved the Snap and Crackle Marshmallow Treats flavor the BEST. It was salty, sweet, crunchy, rich, creamy, and savory all at once!
How did Salt & Straw make this one? The menu says, “We took a trick from three little elves: A magical rendition of Marshmallow-y Brown Butter Treats, pressed and toasted into a lacy florentine, churned throughout a malty, Toasted Graham Ice Cream.”
