UPDATE: The Gran Fiesta Tour attraction opened later in the day, and we were able to ride it. We didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary at the time.
Things at Disney World might be magical and fun, but they’re not always perfect.
Technical difficulties, a fire, and other issues can impact Disney rides and parks, ultimately leading to evacuations or temporary closures. We’ve been evacuated from our fair share of Disney spots in the past, and today we got to experience another evacuation in EPCOT.
During our time in EPCOT today, we experienced an evacuation from the Mexico pavilion.

Guests were then directed out of the pavilion.
You can see guests going up the ramps…
…and ultimately out of the pavilion.
QUITE the crowd formed outside as guests were sent out.
The area in front of the Mexico pavilion can be crowded as it is, so the sudden addition of guests from inside the pavilion only added to the busy nature of the space.
But just as quickly as they left, guests started to form a line to get back in.
An announcement was made that the Mexico pavilion itself would open before the ride inside — the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. That would lead us to believe that the evacuation may have had to do with the ride. From what we discovered in speaking with Cast Members, the evacuation did appear to be ride-related. We inquired with some Cast Members about the situation, but were unable to get more details.
Before too long, the pavilion was open once again!

I THOUGHT I heard sirens from across the lake this morning! I was in the Canada pavilion enjoying my seared scallops and kept hearing the commotion from over there. Glad it wasn’t too serious.
