It’s not every day you can say this, but we’re just a few weeks away from going on a BRAND NEW RIDE in Disney World!
EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is getting closer to its big May 27th opening date. We’ve learned about the ride’s height requirement, seen tickets for the D23 Gold Member ride preview quickly sell out, and gotten an inside look at a whole bunch of the queue. But today, we finally got a FIRST LOOK at something else… .
Thanks to an Instagram post from Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley, today we got a FIRST LOOK at the costumes for the Cast Members who will be working at EPCOT’s new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction!
According to Riddley, like all of Disney’s experiences, the Cast Members play a special role in the story of this ride. At the Wonders of Xandar pavilion (home to the Guardians of the Galaxy ride) the Cast Members are “emissaries of Xandar as members of the Nova Corps, helping Guests along their adventure through the attraction.”
Riddley shares that the costumes feature some of the style, colors, and symbols from the Nova Corps and the world of Xandar that fans have previously only gotten glimpses of. The costumes feature a deep blue color that symbolizes Xandar waters, and the red details symbolize strength. The costumes come with a hat…
…and you can see some really unique detailing in the shoulder area with those gold touches folded into the pleats.
You might also be surprised to learn that these costumes were “designed and created from sustainable features!” In fact, 70% of the costume fabric came from recycled content.
Even the metal buttons along the shoulders were created from 75% recycled metal!
We can’t wait to see what the whole experience looks like with these Cast Member costumes, the fully themed queue, and more. The new Guardians of the Galaxy ride will be opening on May 27th, 2022, so be sure to check back with us for all the latest updates.

Edward Jackson says
The “uniforms” are pretty good. I am surprised they do not reflect the costumes from the
movie more. The fabric looks like burlap. I wouldn’t want to spend a long shit wearing it.
Linus says
Unfortunate typo. Shift?
