Believe it or not, there are still some Disney restaurants that haven’t reopened after the 2020 closures.
We’ve been waiting on spots like Victoria & Albert’s and the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue to reopen for what feels like forever. While we still have to wait a bit longer on those, another Disney restaurant we’ve been eagerly anticipating has FINALLY reopened its doors today, and it’s got a fresh NEW menu to boot!
Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort reopened today, and we were there to see what’s new, what’s the same, and why YOU might want to check it out. Let’s dig in!
With 2,112 guest rooms, Caribbean Beach ranks among Walt Disney World’s largest hotels. In addition to Spyglass Grill, the property is also home to a sit-down restaurant, a quick-service market, and a pool bar. With so many guests at the resort, the reopening of this quick-service spot is a VERY welcome addition! We’re super excited to get reacquainted with this no-fuss, island-inspired restaurant and try out its updated menu items.
Atmosphere
Spyglass Grill is NOT located at the central hub of Caribbean Beach, Old Port Royale, which houses Sebastian’s Bistro and Centertown Market. Instead, the restaurant sits within close proximity to the Trinidad pool area of the sprawling resort.
The casual spot serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from a convenient walk-up counter and also features a patio overlooking Barefoot Bay.
While the restaurant is rather small, it’s got some interesting pirate-themed props and artwork to dress it up a bit.
The seating area is all outdoors, but it IS covered.
It’s definitely not the fanciest, but for poolside fare, it works! So, let’s move on to that poolside fare, shall we?
Food & Drinks
Pre-closure, the menu at Spyglass Grill consisted of burgers, sandwiches, and salads prepared with a Caribbean spin, so let’s take a look at what Spyglass Grill is serving now for lunch and dinner. There are still plenty of burgers and other sandwiches to choose from here…
… but now there is also an expanded salad menu and some new plant-based options. The Kids’ Menu no longer features the fish taco, but it does have some other appealing bites for lunch and dinner.

Drinks at this poolside spot include beers & wines, plus the fruity, frozen drinks you would expect at a poolside dining location.
If you’re staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (or doing a REALLY extensive Skyliner crawl), it might be worthwhile to stop at this newly reopened spot for a casual, poolside meal. We’ll be back soon with a full review of this spot, so stay tuned with DFB!
