We’ve shared a lot of details about what we can expect from the brand new South Terminal C when it opens at Orlando International Airport. We know that it will use advanced technology to expedite the TSA process like facial recognition and a luggage identification system. It will also feature restaurants from the folks at Wine Bar George AND Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ AND The Polite Pig. Plus, it’s getting a brand new Disney Store. Basically, this is an exciting update for the Orlando International Airport.
We recently shared a first look of the new terminal, and now we have more details to share about an opening DATE!
Today, Orlando International Airport shared that South Terminal C has a projected opening date of September 19th! The terminal’s opening will actually be taking place over a two-week period that begins on September 19th. This is a bit later than the previous projected timeline of July 2022.
The new Terminal C will include 15 gates and will be able to accommodate up to 20 aircraft at a time. It will be able to support about 10-12 million passengers per year. JetBlue will be the primary airline departing and arriving in this terminal.
This is just the first phase of plans for the new terminal. There is space to add more gates in the future, and the terminal could ultimately end up supporting around 60 million passengers every year.
We can’t wait until this new terminal is up and running and we will be there opening date to show you inside the new terminal. In the meantime, make sure to keep reading DFB for all the latest news!
