Heads up, Disney World fans!

We are experiencing some major changes all throughout the property — from the EPCOT Transformation and the TRON coaster in Magic Kingdom to new DVC Villas at multiple hotels. If you’re planning an upcoming trip, you might want to stick around and check out all of the construction updates from around Disney World this week!

TRON: Lightcycle Run

Crews appear to be preparing another area for construction near the walkway under the canopy — which also looks to be almost entirely finished!

Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more updates about this ride, as Disney has yet to share an opening timeline for the attraction!

Casey’s Corner

Last week, we reported that there was some refurbishment going on in front of the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, but that has since been finished. Instead, it looks like similar refurbishments are taking place on the opposite side of the street, near Casey’s Corner.

We’ll keep an eye out for any additional progress in this area.

EPCOT

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

The walls are DOWN in front of the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion, which is home to EPCOT’s newest thrill ride.

You still can’t get super close to the entrance, but you can now see a really wonderful view of this area!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind officially opens on May 27th, 2022, with Passholder, DVC, and D23 member previews happening ahead of the grand opening!

Connections Cafe and Eatery

We’ve got some BIG NEWS over at Connections Cafe and Eatery! Both locations had a surprise soft opening on April 21st! The Cafe opened early in the day, with the Eatery following suit a few hours later.

Take a look at some of the incredible new foods we tried from Connections Eatery, including the General Tso Chicken Salad, Leige Waffle, Apple Pie Gelato Shake, and more!

We will DEFINITELY be back soon! While the spot has already soft opened, it will be having its official opening on April 27th, 2022.

Moana: Journey of Water

On our most recent monorail ride, we got a good look at additional walls being built around some previously existing support structures.

Crews are also busy digging out additional dirt, possibly to lay some more foundations or support structures.

We’re waiting patiently (okay, MOST of the time we’re patient!) for news from Disney about the opening timeline of the Moana attraction, so be sure you stay tuned for updates!

Toy Story Mania Gift Shop

Guests who test their arcade skills at this popular Toy Story Land ride are still having to take a detour instead of the normal exit.

Disney is busy transforming the Toy Story Mania Gift Shop, but into what exactly? We’re not sure!

ABC Commissary

There’s some fresh paint over at ABC Commissary!

Cast Members had roped an area off so it could dry when we visited the spot earlier this week.

We’ll keep an eye for any additional updates on this area.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Expedition Everest

This mountain of a ride has FINALLY reopened in Animal Kingdom!

Unfortunately, it did see some technical issues almost immediately. However, now it is fully open and ready for guests after a long closure in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Salt & Straw

Disney’s newest ice cream shop is officially open! 

We were there to check it all out, and it certainly did NOT disappoint. Head on over to Disney Springs if you’re in the mood for some unique flavors — but don’t worry, they have traditional flavors too if you’re not feeling as daring!

Grand Floridian

Work continues over on the Big Pine Key building at the Grand Floridian.

Crews were up on scaffolding working on the exterior of the building on our last visit.

Good news! Both the Righteous Reef Playground AND the Cozy Cone Pool have reopened at this value resort.

Now your kiddos (and you) can play and splash as much as possible.

Polynesian

We caught a glimpse of some fencing and signage up over near the Spirit of Aloha stage. 

Disney has shut this popular experience down to make way for new villas!
