While the parks are where most people are focused during their vacation, there’s actually MUCH more to do in Disney World than ride rides and eat snacks (though we could do that all day).
For example, did you know that Disney World is actually home to FULL-SIZED golf courses? We’re talking the full 18 holes! Adding a visit to the golf course during your trip can be a great way to take a break from the parks and add a little bit of Disney to an activity that you enjoy at home. But, soon one golf course will be getting some TLC resulting in a LONG closure!
According to Walt Disney World’s Golf site, Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely for a “major renovation project” beginning May 9th, 2022. Leading up to this only holes #1 – #9 will be available for play from April 28th to May 8th, 2022.
If you’re not familiar, the Magnolia Golf Course is actually the longest of the Disney World Resort golf courses. The course underwent some renovations back in the summer of 2015 to repair the 97 bunkers on the course, but this will be the first time since the course receives major updates.
Disney anticipates that the renovations will be completed “later this year,” though an exact date has not yet been announced. In the meantime, guests can play at either Disney’s Palm or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Courses instead. Reservations can be made online here or by calling (407) WDW-GOLF.
Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for any other closures that might impact your vacation so stay tuned to DFB!

My uncle designed that course. His name was Joe Lee.
