It’s a big week for Disney news!
There’s a massive overhaul coming to the Paradise Pier Hotel over in Disneyland Resort, and we just learned that two exclusive after-hours events are returning to the parks, too! With so much change, it’s important to stay up-to-date ahead of your upcoming trip — so let’s take a look at all of the construction updates from Disney World this week.
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
We spotted the ride vehicles on the track again this week, but we didn’t spot any active testing happening on Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction.
It also looks like the entire canopy has been completed! We’re not expecting this ride to open anytime soon, though, as this area is still a super heavy construction zone.

EPCOT
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
We’re anxiously awaiting the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — it’s coming up on May 27th, 2022! We were on a monorail ride when we saw that a temporary stage has been installed in front of the attraction entrance, so we decided to take a closer look.
Right now, Disney is in the midst of special previews for this ride — Annual Passholders, DVC, and D23 Members get to ride this attraction before it’s open to the public!

Moana: Journey of Water
We had a pretty big update on the Moana attraction this week, as we spotted the first rock formations being moved into place…
…and some additional walls and support beams have gone up as well!
Unfortunately, we still don’t have an official opening date for this attraction, but you can be sure we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania Gift Shop
Guests are still being directed through a detour upon exiting this exciting arcade-style attraction.
The Toy Story Mania Gift Shop is currently being transformed, but Disney is staying quiet on what we can expect from this location!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Over in Galaxy’s Edge, there are some new temporary construction walls up across from Ronto Roasters.
Disney shared a photo of the temporary walls and the Bounty Hunter emblem, along with a first look at the Star Wars MagicBand+ that will play a critical role in this area.
Guests will be able to pretend to be bounty hunters in Galaxy’s Edge and find virtual bounties to capture using their MagicBand+!

Disney Resorts
Animal Kingdom Lodge
We’ve got good news for guests staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — the Samawati Springs Pool is now open again!
The pool had been closed for routine maintenance and refurbishments, and we’re happy to say that guests can swim once again.
Yacht Club
Over at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, there is some construction taking place on one of the bridges at Stormalong Bay.
We’re not sure what Disney is up to behind these walls, but you can be sure we’ll bring you updates if we learn anything new.
Grand Floridian
There’s still quite a bit of scaffolding surrounding the Big Pine Key building at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
We caught crews working on the exterior of the building, which will eventually be transformed into 200 brand-new Disney Vacation Club Resort Studios!
Disney announced that the renovations are expected to be completed this summer, and DVC members can book their stays now.

Interesting updates. Can anyone tell me if Tron will continue running during Florida’s frequent heavy rain storms and lightening? An idea when the Luau Theater will be raised…?
