Thinking of booking a Disney World trip in June? Got that hotel picked out, park tickets arranged, and a LONG list of snacks you’ve got to try? Awesome! But there’s another thing you’ve got to look at — flights!
Airfare can take up a HUGE part of your budget, and due to rising fuel costs and other factors, prices could continue to increase. So just how much should you budget for flight costs for June? Here’s what we’re seeing.
Our Method
Have you read one of our average flight cost posts before? Great! Then you know the drill. If you haven’t checked these out before, here’s the basics.
We use a specific method to calculate our average flight costs. We look at the average cost to fly to Orlando International Airport (MCO) from a limited number of airports within the United States on a limited number of airlines. We can’t look at all airlines and all airports or this post would be GINORMOUS, so keep in mind that the airport you fly from or the airline you prefer might NOT be on here.
For our June dates, we looked for a trip departing on Thursday, June 9th, and returning on Monday, June 13th. This seemed to feature some dates that weren’t quite as expensive as others in the month, but weren’t necessarily the cheapest either. This was based on flight costs from JFK to MCO.
Airfare can vary a lot depending on when you choose to travel. This year, Juneteenth falls on June 19th, so that could impact flight costs. Other special events or busy periods, and the general fact that June marks summer vacation for many students, could also impact things.
We obtained our flight prices by using Google Flights, just as we’ve done before. The only exception for that is Southwest Airlines. For those flights, we pulled prices directly from the Southwest Airlines website. Keep in mind, this is just a snapshot of what the flight costs could be. Costs can change daily (or even within a few hours).
We really only looked at basic ticket prices. There might be reasons other than just price why you might want to fly with one airline over another. One might offer perks like a free checked back or other arrangements that you prefer. Your ideal type of ticket or airline will depend on your wants.
The costs we looked at are mostly just base ticket prices. Keep in mind that there may be taxes, fees, or additional costs that need to be paid when booking the flight.
A few other notes:
- We calculate flight costs by looking at the least expensive departing flight and least expensive returning flight. We then do the same thing, except we look for the most expensive departing and most expensive returning flights.
- The times of these flights, number of layovers they have, and other details might not work for you.
- For Southwest Airlines, we stuck with “Wanna Get Away” tickets when possible.
- The actual cost of your flight might be different once you actually go to book it on the flight’s website or another travel website.
- We only looked for flights that arrive on the same day as their departure (to the greatest extent possible).
- All prices are for 1 person.
Okay then, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s look at those prices!

Overall, the average price to fly to Disney World in June of 2022 (using our specific method outlined above) ranged from about $508.76 on the cheaper side, up to about $1,158.28 in terms of the more expensive options.
That’s significantly more expensive than the costs we saw for May and most of the previous months we’ve looked at, though April’s higher end average does come somewhat closer to our average in terms of the more expensive options for June.
We will note that on several occasions, a notification did pop up on Google to say that the flight costs were high for some of the trips at this time, so things could change.
Fuel prices and more could also change those prices in the future.
These are just averages based on the method we used, so (as we’ve mentioned above) the actual cost of your flight could be very different than what we saw there. But hopefully these gives you an idea of a potential range of prices.
