Here at DFB, we talk a lot about flying to Disney World — new flight options, airport changes, and anything else you need to know if you’re traveling through MCO. But what about those guests who choose to drive instead?
There’s a whole slew of information that you’ll need if you’re bringing a car to Disney World, including parking fees, directions to the parks, and much more. But one BIG update you need to know is all about those pesky gas prices!
As you probably know, gas prices have been rising in many places in the U.S., and Central Florida has not been excluded from that problem. We’ve seen a lot of waffling back and forth in the past few weeks, but according to Spectrum News 13, Florida’s average gas price per gallon has been holding steady at $4.13 since Thursday.
A week ago, the average was sitting at $4.10 per gallon, but it steadily increased through Tuesday and Wednesday before hitting that $4.18 mark. The record high is currently $4.38, which was set back in March. HOWEVER, the record before that was $4.08, which hadn’t been hit since July 16th, 2008.
Currently, the national average is just a little bit higher, sitting at $4.19 per gallon. That means that technically, Florida is lower than the national average right now! Either way, those numbers could definitely have an effect on your vacation budget, especially if you’re driving long distances.
We’ll keep you updated on any more travel information that you need to know if you’re heading to Florida soon. Stay tuned to DFB!
