We know a LOT about Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. We know that EPCOT’s newest attraction will open on May 27, 2022. We know about the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, the ride’s soundtrack, and the cast of characters. We’ve even seen a sneak peek at the merchandise.
But one BIG question has remained unanswered: HOW will riders GET ON Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind? Well, it’s remained unanswered UNTIL NOW, that is…
The Wait Disney World website has been newly updated to say that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will utilize a Virtual Queue.
This means that Guests MUST have a Boarding Group in the Virtual Queue to ride. Registration for the Virtual Queue is accessible through the My Disney Experience app.

Disney also shared that a Standby line will NOT be available in the ride’s opening phase.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will ALSO offer pay-per-rise access via a Lightning Lane through Individual Attraction Selection on the Disney Genie tool in the My Disney Experience app.
The cost to ride Cosmic Rewind is not yet known; currently, the highest priced attraction in Disney World is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, at $15 per person, per ride.

Cancelling all my plans for DisneyWorld at this time. Had planned to go twice in the next 18 months but continuing to add costs and reduction of benefits have disincentivized me from going .

So, I paid for my ticket to EPCOT (presumably to have access to all attractions) and there’s a ride that I cannot ride by walking up to it and waiting in a line? Shark* Jumped* Finally*.
Nope.

So what are you supposed to try to book at 7am? This free virtual que that is likely to sell out in seconds or a paid lightning lane that will sell out just as quickly. This is getting to be way way too much to make the parks an enjoyable experience.
Every single day I read something about Disney I despise the company even more. I was a huge and proud Disney fan just a couple of years back. Now I am ashamed of this brand and everything it has become. This was the last straw! I’m cancelling my upcoming $8,000 trip to the Beach Club Resort.

As we are staying off property it is highly unlikely we will snap up an individual attraction purchase when we are permitted to do so on entering the park, unlike on site guests who can purchase at 7am !
Magic for all NOT !
With no standby option available
this is so disappointing and so many will feel this way ! We are all Disney guests and not everyone can afford to stay on property.
You are a business Disney but without all of your guests you wouldn’t have a business so please please look after ALL of your guests not just the affluent !!
Jim Anthony says
Hope they give priority to us high paying resort guests to make reservations at 7AM and let the others try later. It’s time to give back to us DVC members.
