Even if you’re not in Disney World today, there are plenty of ways to bring some Star Wars into your day in celebration of May the Fourth. You might make your own Fuzzy Tauntaun from Oga’s Cantina or check out the new trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, which streams on Disney+ later this month. Or you could head online to shopDisney to shop for some of the NEW Star Wars merchandise released for this occasion!
If you do plan to check out shopDisney today, you may want to head there sooner rather than later. Because when we tried to visit the site this morning, we were met with a BIG surprise!
Disney’s online shopping center, shopDisney, will often have a virtual waiting room if there will potentially be high traffic on the site. This can happen if Disney is releasing some new merchandise that’s expected to be very popular! We’ve seen waiting rooms for collectibles, like the Stitch Crashes Disney collections. But today we might have seen the longest wait YET in one of these rooms.
When we went to shopDisney this morning, we were met with the virtual waiting room, which explained what the waiting room is and informed us that we would have 10 minutes to shop once we were admitted to the site. It also informed us that there were 42,383 people ahead of us (!!), waiting to shop! Apparently, we’re not the only ones who had the idea to do some Star Wars shopping today.
Also in the waiting room, you can take a look at the new items that will be available once you get on the site. There’s a list of the high-demand merchandise and an update about whether they’re currently in stock or sold out. Luckily, most of the items were still in stock when we were there.
Despite the huge amount of people in the queue ahead of us, we were able to get onto the site in just about 10 minutes. So don’t give up if it looks like there are a lot of people in the queue! The virtual line moves pretty quickly.
Once on the site, we checked out some of the new Star Wars items. There’s a new set of Legacy Lightsaber Hilts, these ones belonging to Ahsoka Tano.
The hilts are limited-edition, and only 2,000 have been made. The set includes the 2 hilts and a carrying case as well. The case actually plays The Force theme (John Williams’ “The Princess Appears”) when it opens!
You can buy this set for $400, but you might want to hurry — there are limited hilts available and we’re expecting this to be a popular item.

We also found a cool new Spirit Jersey that’s giving us tropical vibes with a Star Wars theme.
The front says “Rebel Leader,” and the back says “May the Force Be With Us.” The jersey is teal with black and white accents, and it features Star Wars ships and symbols in the design.
You can get it in adult sizes for $74.99.

Possibly the cutest new things we saw on shopDisney today were these Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run Wishables!
You can get the mystery pack of the little plushes, which comes with one of the characters from the Disney World attraction: Hondo Ohnaka, R5-P8, a Porg, or the Millennium Falcon itself.
A mystery pack (with 1 figure inside) costs $14.99.
Buy the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run Wishables here.
There were a lot more new items to see, so head online to shopDisney to check out all the new Star Wars merchandise! And keep following DFB for more of the latest Disney news.

I got in about 10 minutes after the site opened and the hilts were already sold out.
