We’ve just finished trying out all kinds of May the Fourth treats in Disney World, but it’s already on to the next holiday. Leave the Blue Milk, Galactic Swirl Funnel Cake, and Millennium Falcon Sundae behind — we’re ready to celebrate Mother’s Day!
There are a LOT of treats coming to Disney World and Disneyland in honor of this holiday, and we’re trying out all the new ones so that you know which to BUY and which to SKIP. Let’s head to one Disney World hotel to check out a brand-new cupcake!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is home to the BoardWalk Bakery, which is where you’ll find the new Jumbo Cupcake. Although this cupcake is pretty big, that’s not why it’s called “Jumbo.” It’s actually named after Dumbo’s mom, Mrs. Jumbo!
This cupcake is a Chocolate Cupcake with a Peanut Butter Filling, topped with Vanilla Buttercream and decorated with White Crispy Pearls and a White Chocolate Decal featuring Mrs. Jumbo and Dumbo.
In our humble opinion, peanut butter and chocolate is a match made in heaven. So how did it work out in this new cupcake? Let’s find out!
This treat is basically a Reese’s in cupcake form, and we are HERE 👏 FOR 👏 IT 👏. The chocolate cake is nice and moist and has a simple but tasty chocolate flavor. There wasn’t anything super amazing about the cake itself, but combined with the peanut butter filling, it was taken to a whole other level.
The filling wasn’t thick like real peanut butter. Instead, it was more of a smooth peanut butter icing. It was also cold, which reminded us of when we put a Reese’s in the freezer before eating it — does anyone else do that? Somehow they taste better that way….
How sweet is this Jumbo Cupcake from BoardWalk Bakery 🥰

The white pearl crisps are fun, but if you’re going to eat them, make sure you do that BEFORE you take off the striped cupcake paper. They tend to fall off when you remove that liner!
If we had to give a criticism, we could’ve used a little more chocolate flavor from the cake and a little less buttercream on top. Maybe topping it with chocolate buttercream instead of vanilla is the answer to both of those issues? We think that change might have made this the perfect cupcake. But honestly, the cupcake was delicious as is, so we’d still recommend it to any chocolate + peanut butter lovers out there.
If you want to try out the Jumbo Cupcake, hurry in to the Boardwalk Bakery soon! This treat is only available from May 5th through the 8th. You can get one for $6.29. And remember that you can use Mobile Order at this spot to skip the line and get your cupcake faster! Keep following DFB for more reviews of all the newest treats at Disney World.
