We’re in Disney World almost every day so we like to think we’ve seen it all — but that’s just not true.
Every week holds a few more unexpected surprises and to be honest, we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s part of the Disney magic! As the week comes to an end, we’re here to go over all the unexpected news from Disney World, so buckle in and come along for the ride!
TRON Ride Testing
Work on TRON Lightcycle Run is still in progress in Magic Kingdom and this week it hit another construction milestone! Disney recently initiated the testing process with a slow-moving push/pull test with sections of vehicles, and now it looks like testing with full ride vehicles has begun.
Our friends at AllEars.net shared a video of a test run they caught in Tomorrowland and we have to admit — it’s really exciting to see!
🚨Don’t blink or you’ll miss it!🚨

There are several phases of testing and several more to go before the ride will be ready to open. Keep checking back with more updates because most of the ride testing will be visible in Magic Kingdom!

Droid Depot Parts Shortage
One of the most popular spots in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is to build your own droid at Droid Depot, but you might want to avoid this experience for a while. This process costs $99.99 and you can normally choose from a number of different droid parts and colors to put your R2 or BB style-droid together.
This week, however, a Cast Member told us that the Depot is short on droid parts, and they have only about half of their usual inventory, including no R2 parts at all. If you have a specific vision in mind for your droid, this is one experience you probably want to wait for.

Addison the Cast Member
And finally, we stopped into Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom for some quick chicken tenders only to find Cast Member Addison creating a work of art out of pepper and sugar packets!
And voila! It’s Mickey, complete with precisely placed pepper and sugar packets. Addison commented, “I figured I’d help create a little bit of magic with the materials I had!” We love it.
We love and appreciate all the extra work Cast Members do just to create a little bit of magic for guests in unexpected places. Thank you, Addison!
