Disney World is back!
While the parks have been open since July 2020, there are some experiences, like hugging characters and character dining, that have only come back recently. Additionally, we’ve seen a lot of traffic at Disney World this year. With COVID-19 safety regulations loosening, many people have been traveling to the parks, and it’s big for Florida’s tourism industry.
According to News 6 WKMG, the Governor’s Office just reported that there was a 14% growth in visitors to the state from its last quarter in 2021. In January through March 2022 alone, Florida has seen 36 million visitors. This lines up with the crowds we were seeing at the parks at the beginning of the year!
Th Governor’s office also predicts that this increase will continue in the coming months, so it seems like 2022 is a huge year for Florida. Tourism levels are continuing to beat records that were set pre-pandemic and tourism is the state’s #1 industry. Also, this is the 3rd consecutive quarter that Florida’s tourism numbers have passed pre-pandemic records.
With tons of new stuff on the horizon for Disney World, including an all-new ride opening this month, it’s safe to say that the parks will continue to attract visitors throughout the rest of the year. We’re always keeping up with all the latest Disney updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
