Are you nostalgic when it comes to Disneyland?
Do you attend Dapper Day in vintage outfits? Do you spend hours looking at old photos of Disneyland from the 50s and 60s? Do you wish you could ride the original Skyway? Well, if that’s the case, you’ll want to keep an eye on an upcoming Disney auction!
Heritage Auctions is having an auction on some authentic pieces of Disneyland history, giving everyone who can afford it a chance to own authentic memorabilia, props, and even ride vehicles. Say what?
For example, you can bid on an ACTUAL Autopia vehicle — yes, this is an actual car that has been used on the ride in 1967. If you happen to have $21,000 (the current bid amount) or more lying around, it could be yours!
Or maybe you’d like to have an actual Ride Wait Time Sign — you could bid on a Pirates of the Caribbean Wait Time Sign that was used between 1967 and 1970.
Of course, you’ll also get a chance to bid on a real Skyway Gondola from 1965. The ride might be gone, but it’s not forgotten (and, hey, it served as inspiration for Disney World’s Skyliner!). Imagine this sitting in your living room just for fun!
If you’ve got the cash to spare, you can even get your very own Club 33 Sign to hang on your own exclusive room in your house. This sign dates back to 1967!!!
When’s the next Enchanted Tiki Room Show? All Disneyland guests know to check the next show sign at the park, but you can bring that sign home circa the 80s, for the right amount of dollars.
Okay, so many of us don’t even remember Disneyland’s Rocket Jets ride in Tomorrowland (although a rocket remains in Tomorrowland as tribute), but you can still bid on a piece of that ride — one of the actual Rocket Jets! This ride vehicle dates all the way back to 1967.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg, too — there are tons of pieces from Disneyland’s history available through the auction. So if you’ve got the money, be sure to head on over to the official Heritage Auctions website on May 21st through 22nd to bid. (Or if you’re like us, you’ll just stare wistfully at all the ride vehicles and wish you could just decorate your living room with them.)
We’ll let you know about other fun Disney auctions and events, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
