When planning your Disney World trip, the hardest decision you make can be where you’re going to rest your head at the end of a long park day.
From Value Resorts and Moderate Resorts to Deluxe Resorts and even campgrounds, there are so many options when it comes to Disney World Resort hotels. But, not all Disney hotel rooms are created equally — Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Villas can offer much more than just your average hotel room, and soon there will be even more DVC Villas to choose from. Now, it looks like MORE DVC Villas are going to be getting a bit of an update!
Did you know there’s a way to stay in actual treehouses in Disney World? Located at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa — and ten feet off the ground — the Treehouse Villas are one of the most standout places to stay in all of Disney World.
Each Treehouse Villa can sleep up to 9 guests, and there are 60 total on property. New construction permits have been filed on four of the villas, which means we could see some updates soon!
The four permits (7022, 7023, 7026, and 7031) were listed as “General Construction” — meaning the updates could be minor or major. Disney hasn’t shared any plans for updating the Treehouse Villas, so for now we’ll have to wait and see what Disney has planned for these four units.
The Treehouse Villas aren’t the only area of Saratoga Springs set for a refurb, as the Saratoga Springs High Rock Spring Pool and On the Rocks Pool Bar will be closed from January 2023 to March 2023, too.
Disney is updating a few other DVC Resorts as well — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will soon have 200 new DVC studios, the BoardWalk Inn is getting some updates soon, and the Polynesian Village Resort is set to undergo a massive expansion as well!
Keep these construction projects in mind if you have an upcoming Disney World trip planned or are thinking about planning one — and don’t forget to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.

Sad to see the Spirit of Aloha going away. I always enjoyed that dining experience.

Is the DVC portion at Boardwalk getting refurbished or is it just the Inn side? Just curious as we have a 2 bedroom booked for next March

Just not too excited about the new gigantic 10 story building at the Poly. For one thing, it doesn’t fit the theming. And do they really need hundreds of new rooms? The parks are at capacity as it is; it’s just going to make it more crowded. Also, I fear it will make getting into Trader Sam’s nearly impossible….

The new Polynesian DVC building is ugly. Doesn’t fit the theming or the tropical anesthetic at all. Are high-rise, boxy hotel buildings all the Imagineers can design now? It looks like the Riviera Resort, the new Disneyland Tower… no Disney charm, just a run-of-the-mill hotel. Disney used to try. So disappointing.
