Thinking about starting your day off in the parks with a cup of coffee? Well, you’re not alone.
It’s hard to be successful doing rope-drop, Early Theme Park Entry, or even a long day in the parks without caffeine. And naturally, your first thought is to grab Starbucks from inside the parks before starting your day. But would it surprise you to know that this is NOT the best idea? We’ll show you exactly why — but make sure you’re sitting before you keep reading, as what you’re about to see is shocking!
Okay, are you sitting? Good. So, we had an early start in EPCOT. And, in order to properly fuel up for the day’s activities, we stopped by Connections Café to grab a cup of coffee.
And BAM. No — this isn’t a line for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. It’s a line for Starbucks! We couldn’t even believe our eyes…this is one of the worst lines we’ve ever seen for coffee!
And while this is a pretty bad line, it’s not unusual to be met with long lines when grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning. When you’re in the parks, there are limited options for coffee (which get even smaller if you’re looking for Starbucks, specifically), with a large number of people looking for a cup. It’s the perfect recipe for long lines! So how do you avoid this? Well, we’ve got a couple recommendations.
Get Coffee Before You Enter The Park
This can be difficult to do if you’re heading to the parks early and your nearby Starbucks is closed. However, chances are, you’ll be able to find coffee somewhere — you just may not be able to be picky about where it’s from.
Early mornings in Disney World provide the chance to experience attractions with shorter lines. We don’t like wasting any of the time in line for coffee — regardless of how long the line is!
Make Your Own Coffee
This is an easy option if you’re starting your morning off in your own home, or in a hotel room with a coffee machine!
You can choose to sip it slowly as you get ready, or pour it into a travel mug and head to the parks!
Grab Coffee Elsewhere
If you’re not set on grabbing your coffee from Starbucks, you can get a cup from somewhere else!
There are other coffee spots like Joffrey’s, which has locations all throughout Disney World! Some of the locations include:
Magic Kingdom
- Transportation and Ticket Center
- Tomorrowland Revive Kiosk
EPCOT
- Near Test Track
- Near The American Adventure
- World Showcase – Between the United Kingdom and Canada Pavilions
- World Showcase – Entrance near Disney Traders
- EPCOT Monorail Station
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Entrance to Pixar Place
- Outside of Tower of Terror Exit
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Royal Anandapur Tea Cart near Kali River Rapids
- Theme Park Entrance
These are great options and there are a bunch of other locations that offer coffee! Just check your My Disney Experience app to find quick service locations near you with coffee!
Get Coffee Later
If you’re adamant about getting your coffee from Starbucks, but still want to avoid lines, you can just grab your drink later! The lines are very long in the morning, but they get much better as the day goes on. Keep checking the location to see how the line looks, and jump in when it dies down!
All of this being said, if you want to relax and drink your Starbucks at Disney World in the morning, go for it! But if Starbucks is looking treacherous and you don’t want to wait, these are some other ways you can still get your coffee! We’ll continue to bring you the latest Disney news and tips, so stay tuned to DFB!

We usually drive to WDW and so we’re able to bring our regular coffee maker with us along with our favorite coffee beans (we aren’t fans of kcups or Starbucks). We drink it before heading to the parks. It costs us less money and helps us avoid our dreaded caffeine headaches if we don’t get our morning caffeine dose. It works for us.

Makes me glad I don’t drink coffee.

What a joke. Over sugared flavored hot water…and at a price that exceeds gasoline by a lone show, had one Starbucks is my entire life of 66 years. Too much sugar for me. I like coffee, just coffee.

We pack our water kettle and Folger’s coffee bags. We save these bags for vacations only.
We pack some ‘go’ cups with lids as well.
We get distilled water gallons from a delivery service along with heavy whipping cream.
I make some chai tea bags from
ground bought-in-bulk spices that are ground and put 1/4 teaspoon into an infilled tea bag. This can be added with the coffee bag or to tea.
Sweet n low or sugar gets packed as well.
Sometimes I look forward to the cup of coffee more than the day’s activities, I think.
