Things are always changing in Disney World!
While there are things like big crowds, long wait times, and closed rides that you can’t always plan for, we’re always keeping tabs on everything new happening in Disney World so you know what to expect on your vacation. If you’re going to the parks in June, keep reading to see everything that’s going to be different this month!
1. HUGE Genie+ Change
A big change is coming to Disney Genie+, the planning and line-skipping service through the My Disney Experience app. Genie+ is a paid service that allows you to make Lightning Lane reservations to avoid the long lines in Disney World. If you’re familiar with the old FastPasses, they’re pretty much the same thing. Genie+ is $15, and before, you could buy the add-on for the entire duration of your trip in advance, but that is about to change.
Starting on June 8th, you will only be able to purchase Genie+ on the day of your park reservation. You can buy it at midnight on the day you’re going to the park, but you can only buy it for one day at a time. Disney says this decision is in response to the high demand for Genie+, and with summer crowds starting to turn up, we’ll see how this change affects guests’ experience!

2. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Reopening
One of Disney World’s most unique dining experiences is finally reopening! The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is returning on June 23rd. This all-you-can-eat musical dinner experience is open for reservations now.
Make sure you get a reservation at Hoop-Dee-Doo if you’re looking for a fun show and some incredible food!

3. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on Genie+
There’s another Genie+ change coming to Disney World this month! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, one of Disney World’s newest rides, was originally available as an Individual Attraction Selection purchase. This meant that if you wanted to get Lightning Lane for this ride, you had to pay an additional fee not included with Genie+, but this is changing.
But now, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is available on Genie+ for Lightning Lane without any additional fee! If you purchase regular Genie+, you’ll be able to make a Lightning Lane for Remy’s. This is most likely because EPCOT’s newest ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, just opened as an Individual Attraction Selection ride!

4. New Way to Watch Kite Tails in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We’re still in the middle of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, and one of the new shows that debuted in the parks for the celebration was Kite Tails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! They just changed how you’ll be able to watch this delightful addition to Animal Kingdom.
Kite Tails no longer has showtimes and will be running throughout the day for walk-by viewing. You won’t be able to sit and watch the show anymore, but you’ll be able to see it more frequently and from more places around the Discovery River Lagoon. Here’s a video of what it looks like to catch the show now!

Kite Tails will be playing all around the lagoon from 9:10AM until 3:10PM, so there will still be tons of opportunities to see these amazing kites!

5. No More Venti Starbucks Water in Magic Kingdom
It can get HOT in the parks! That’s why it’s always important to stay hydrated, and thankfully, Disney World has you covered when it comes to water. If you’re Disney World, then you can get a free cup of water at all Joffrey’s, Starbucks, and quick-service food locations, as well as some of the snack carts around the Magic Kingdom hub. However, the Starbucks in Magic Kingdom just changed their policy.
The Starbucks on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom is no longer offering venti cups of water in Starbucks plastic cups. You can still get water here, it’ll just come in a smaller red cup, but you can take as many of them as you need. Venti waters in those adorable Disney Parks Starbucks cups are still available at EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
