A new month means many new things are on their way into Disney Springs!
We see menu changes and new experiences come to Disney Springs pretty often. But there are some spots, like Gideon’s Bakehouse, Sprinkles, and, of course, Salt & Straw, that like to debut something new for each new month. Since it’s the start of June, the popular ice cream shop has debuted its new flavors!
Now, a big disclaimer here. For a reason unknown to us, Disney World’s Salt & Straw location is not listed on the Salt & Straw website, but Disneyland’s location is. The flavors below are what are coming to Anaheim’s location this month, and we assume Disney World’s flavors will be similar.
The company’s full menu won’t be dropped until Friday, so keep an eye on DFB, and we’ll be sure to keep you in the know of what flavors will be coming to Orlando!
Let’s start off strange with the Devilled Egg Custard with Smoked Black Tea. So basically…breakfast? An egg yolk custard is mixed with an umami-rich black salt called Kala Namak, which is then mixed with bits of smoked tea-infused shortbread.
It’s topped off with a peach balsamic egg white marshmallow fluff. If this combination of flavors sounds like your jam, tell us how it is!
Maybe this next one will be a little more appealing for simpler tastebuds! The Pink Rosé & Watermelon Sorbet is a vegan treat made by combining watermelon and rosé punch into the ice cream maker.
When it all comes together, a house-made raspberry rosé jam is drizzled in, and violá! You have this summer-esque treat.
Okay, let’s get back to those REALLY original flavors with the Baked Brie & Fig Cheesecake ice cream!
A whipped brie cheesecake baked on a candied Ritz cracker crust is mixed with dark ribbons of sweet, thick fig jam, and then turned into ice cream! Cheese-lovers, don’t miss this one! Cherry and chocolate fans, this one is for you! The Chocolate Nocino Cherry Pie is chocolate ice cream infused spiked with the famous three year-aged, green walnut liqueur, Nocino, and hunks of rustic cherry slab pie.
So if you’re 21+ and looking for a boozy, chocolatey, cherry treat to try, head on over! The last flavor joining the lineup this month is the Cinnamon & Honey Fried Chicken ice cream. Yes, we did say fried chicken!
This ice cream flavor comes from fresh croissants (bet you didn’t expect that) torn into pieces and deep-fried in chicken fat. Then, they’re churned into salted vanilla ice cream, and a secret blend of spices is mixed in to add a sweet heat.
Did these throw you for a loop? Some of our team was! We’re looking forward to trying these flavors, as well as grabbing a returning favorite cookie and new treats from Gideon’s Bakehouse! We love the unique flavors that Salt & Straw releases each month and can’t wait to give a few of these a try!
