June is a BIG month for Disneyland Resort, with tons of new eats, drinks, experiences, and merch for Celebrate Soulfully and Pride Month!
“Celebrate Soulfully” this summer by catching a performance of the “Tale of the Lion King” or by going for a walk through the “Soul of Jazz” exhibit that was previously located in EPCOT. And when you’re hungry after all that, you can come along with us to try seven NEW eats in Disneyland Resort!
Disneyland Park
Refreshment Corner
In Disneyland Park, you can try the Rocket Soda from Refreshment Corner for $5.99. It’s made with blue raspberry syrup, Sprite, whipped cream, and cherry flavor-filled boba.
We thought the Rocket Soda was sweet and refreshing, and it hit the spot on a hot day. The main flavor we tasted was the Sprite, and we thought it was mixed with just the right amount of blue raspberry syrup, which wasn’t overly strong.
The boba added some cherry flavor even if you didn’t get a boba with each sip of your drink, and the whipped cream mixed in well with everything and added even more sweetness.
If you don’t like sweets or you’re looking for a different kind of sweet drink, this is probably a skip for you. But those of you with a sweet tooth would probably love it! Head to Refreshment Corner in Disneyland Park to give it a try.
Royal Street Veranda
In New Orleans Square, Royal Street Veranda had a new seasonal specialty! Blueberry Fritters were available for $5.99, and they’re covered with blue sugar and served with lemon curd dipping sauce.
You get three blueberry fritters with your order, and you can see that they were quite covered in blue sugar. The fritters had a lot of promise — the blueberry flavor was fully present and they had a nice sweetness without being cloying. And we LOVED the lemon curd, which was nicely sweet-tart, but they had one big issue — and that was the texture.
They felt a little over-fried to us and they were really hard to cut and bite. You know when you burn toast and it hurts your mouth to eat it because of all the sharp edges? It was like that! This may have been just the batch we got, so you could end up with perfectly fried fritters.
The Blueberry Fritters will be available while supplies last, so you may want to get there sooner rather than later to give them a try! If anything, we just want more of that lemon curd.
Disney California Adventure
Award Wieners
For the Celebrate Soulfully event at Disneyland Resort, Award Wieners in Disney California Adventure added two new menu items, including the Foot-long BBQ Pulled Pork Dog and the Peaches and Cream Funnel Cake Fries. These new eats will be available from June 1st through September 2nd.
The Foot-long BBQ Pulled Pork Dog is $15.49, and you get an all-beef foot-long hot dog topped with BBQ pulled pork, fried onions, and creamy slaw on a toasted bun. It’s served with Cutie Mandarin Oranges or Filmstrip Fries. And goodness, we loved EVERYTHING about this!
The fried onions add a crunch and a bit of onion flavor (but not too much), the coleslaw was refreshing (it seemed like it had been chilled) and a little sweet, and it worked beautifully with the barbecue sauce that added a bit of a kick. The pulled pork and barbecue sauce were our FAVORITE part of this dish. The kick from the sauce was perfect with the pulled pork, the hot dog itself was tasty, and the bun was toasted just right. Other than being a little messy, we had no complaints! If you’re looking for a filling meal, this is it.
Also available are the Peaches and Cream Funnel Cake Fries, which are dusted with cinnamon sugar and topped with whipped cream and peach glaze drizzle.
The funnel cake fries were perfect on their own, and they were served warm with a nice crunch on the outside and all soft and warm on the inside. The cinnamon sugar and peach drizzle made for a sweet and peachy vibe, and the combination of flavors with the funnel fries reminded us of peach cobbler. Note, however, that the peach flavor was strong and it had a bit of an artificial flavor.
Peach lovers would absolutely love this treat but if you’re not a fan of peaches, you might want to skip this one. Visit Award Wieners to try one (or both)!
Downtown Disney
GCH Craftsman Bar
We visited the GCH Craftsman Bar in the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for another Celebrate Soulfully dish, the Jack Seasoned Beef Tenderloin Skewers and Coconut Shrimp with raspberry rum sauce for $26. This dish was available as of June 1st.
The skewers were our favorite part! The meat was tender, cooked perfectly, and the jerk seasoning added a little spice. The sweetness of the raspberry rum sauce worked well with the beef and the jerk seasoning. Our reporter was not a huge fan of coconut or shrimp but they didn’t mind the coconut shrimp here! The coconut flavor was light and only came through in the crunchy outside of the shrimp. We didn’t think the raspberry sauce worked with the shrimp but we still appreciated the flavor.
If you like mixing sweet and savory and you’re a fan of shrimp and/or steak, give it a try! Otherwise, you probably wouldn’t enjoy this.
Happy Ice
Next, we headed to the food trucks in Downtown Disney for more Celebrate Soulfully things to try! The Rainbow Rocket from the Happy Ice food truck is $7, and it’s available from June 1st through July 4th daily after 3PM. It’s basically a combination of all their Ultra-Premium Philadelphia Italian Ice flavors, including Cherry Bomb, Blueberry Blast Mango Madness, Strawberry Lemon, Pineapple Potion, Sour Apple Lush, Watermelon Lush, and Lucky Lemon.
This treat was so sweet and refreshing! Since it’s a combo of so many flavors, every bite is a different taste experience, and we thought that all of the flavors were nice and fruity. After a while, our Rainbow Rocket melted into a bit of a mess, but it still tasted good!
With all the different flavors going on some people might think there’s TOO much happening at once, but we enjoyed it! If you want a cool and fruity treat this is a must-try, but if you don’t like strong fruity flavors go ahead and skip it.
Bred’s Nashville Hot Chicken
And finally, we tried the Big O’ Sandwich from Bred’s Nashville Hot Chicken food truck, which is available after 3PM from June 1st through July 4th for $15.95. This chicken sandwich comes with vinaigrette slaw, housemade pickles, and comeback sauce on a toasted brioche bun.
We’re not gonna lie, the chicken strips on this sandwich were some of the BEST chicken strips we’ve ever had! They were juicy and tender and the skin was nice and crispy and slid off with each bite. The slaw added a crunch and a little vinegar flavor, but overall it was kind of hard to differentiate all the flavors because of the spiciness of the chicken (we’ll get into that next).
Their comeback sauce is mayo and ketchup-based and they told us that it’s basically their version of Cane’s Sauce. Note that you can make the chicken as spicy as you want! We got the spicy habanero option, but you can get it less spicy depending on your tastes. We have nothing to complain about with this sandwich! Our only warning is to make sure you don’t order it TOO spicy if that’s not your thing or if you want to be able to taste each flavor individually.
If you’re looking for other eats and treats to try around Disneyland Resort in June, you can also take a look at some of their Pride Month offerings, like a Pride Donut, a Pride Sugar Cookie, Pride Pretzel Rods, and LOTS more.
You can also check out limited-time offerings like a Pride Parade Castle Tumbler or a Scented Pride Cake Straw Clip at select Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney locations! These new souvenirs will only be found throughout June while supplies last.
Whether you’re heading to Disneyland Resort this June to Celebrate Soulfully or enjoy Pride Month, there are a LOT of new things to do and try! Keep following DFB for more Disney Parks news and updates!

The prices on some of this stuff is INSANE.
$26 dollars for 3 skewers & some frozen coconut shrimp? $16 for a hot dog? The gouging on food in Disneyland is getting worse & more blatant!
