Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Not to mention, it won’t cost you a thing! Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a deluxe hotel that is within literal walking distance of Magic Kingdom. With perks like that, you can believe it’s just a bit on the pricier side. From new restaurants to old favorites and updated rooms, the Contemporary is loved by many Disney guests. And now, we’re taking you on a full room tour!
First things first, let’s talk about the architecture of the Contemporary. You might notice upon first glance that there’s actually a giant hole in the middle of the original building. That’s because the Walt Disney World Monorail actually goes through the hotel and stops inside!

The Contemporary recently underwent renovations to several areas of the hotel, including updates to the lobby and a brand new restaurant, Steakhouse 71.

One of the most iconic aspects of the Contemporary is the large atrium that houses the monorail station, gift shops, and several dining locations. Check out the character breakfast at Chef Mickey’s for a delicious start to your day! You’ll also find Contempo Cafe, Outer Rim, and of course — California Grill at the Contemporary too.

Okay, now onto the main event: the room tour! On this visit, we stayed in a Main Tower Theme Park View Room, which sleeps up to 5 adults and either includes 1 king bed and 1 day bed or 2 queen beds and 1 day bed. Here’s what you seen when you open the door…

The main light switches are to your right as you walk in just before the entrance to the bathroom, and on your left you’ll find the closet.

It may not look like much, but the inside is pretty spacious!

Moving back out into the main room, next to the closet you’ll find a little kitchenette area and shelf.

Next to each bed is a fancy little lamp that pulls out from the wall.

There’s also additional space under the beds for storing suitcases if you need it!

Across from the beds, you’ll find the main living area and television.

Next to the couch, you’ll find an end table with some hidden seating space.

For a slightly less expensive hotel option, moderate resorts like Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resorts can be top notch. Don’t forget that all Disney Resort hotel guests can take advantage of Early Park Admission to all four theme parks, but only Deluxe Resort hotel guests receive Extended Evening Hours.

Thank you for this! Just stayed in this exact same room for 5 nights this past April. The view of the castle was astounding and almost every night we watched the Enchantment fireworks from the balcony (you can turn your TV onto a “fireworks” channel so you hear the music played in your room)! The opposite side of the hotel features gorgeous pools, outside activities and a beach on Bay Lake.
The whole stay was incredible – pun intended. We cried when we left.

This could be our room… 3 nights this upcoming December. Can’t wait! Hoping for some sort of discount, though.
You didn’t actually show the Theme Park View anywhere in this article! You have to look more right and you can see the castle, space mountain, the Astro Orbiter, etc.. You only showed the straight on and left views. Still good views, but seems like an odd choice or oversite given the title of the post and the category of the rooms.
It’s also the reason they cost so much more than the ones on the other side of the tower that actually don’t have parking lot or road views and see the water parade nightly – but don’t see the Magic Kingdom..
