We’ve seen long lines for exclusive popcorn buckets, merchandise, and popular rides in Disney World, but what about COOKIES? Yeah, it happens!
Since opening in Disney Springs, guests have been lining up for multiple-hour waits to grab a treat from Gideon’s Bakehouse. And, with exclusive cookies, GIANT cakes, and tasty cold brew flavors, plus a HIGHLY themed storefront, it’s no wonder many fans are willing to throw their park plans out the door to wait in (the virtual) line. But, you don’t have to — Gideon’s just shared some more details about when you can usually visit WITHOUT a wait!
Right now, Gideon’s Bakehouse uses a virtual queue to get people in and out with their treats as seamlessly as possible on their busiest days. And, the owner of this popular bake shop has revealed that the busiest days tend to be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, plus occasionally a Monday (likely over holiday weekends).
Those visiting on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays can usually forego the virtual queue, according to Gideon’s, and hop in line outside of the shop without much of a wait at all. This can save you HOURS of time wandering Disney Springs trying to keep yourself busy until it’s finally your turn to head inside.
This guidance is a little different from what Gideon’s was originally sharing about the virtual queue when they first opened in 2021. They used to find that the virtual queue went into effect between open and lunchtime on the weekdays, based on crowd levels, but it seems that the weekday travelers may have lessened a bit since.
Of course, summer crowds are on their way to Disney World now that schools are out so this could change. But, nonetheless, planning your Disney Springs visit for a weekday might save you some precious park time and ensure that you can still get the goods!
And, if you do need to visit on a weekend (or even if you end up there on a busy weekday), we’ve got some tips:
- Gideon’s usually opens at 10AM, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t hop in line earlier! Gideon’s has shared in the past that people start lining up around 9AM, which is when the parking garages open at Disney Springs. Plan to hit the parks later in the day and head to Disney Springs first — this is usually our approach!
- The earlier the arrival, the shorter the wait — most of the time.
- Snag your spot in line BEFORE 6-7PM. That’s when that virtual queue tends to close.
- Enjoy Disney Springs while you’re waiting! Make a dinner reservation and enjoy a nice sit-down meal or hit all the shops — that’s the beauty of a virtual queue.
- And, if you really don’t want to wait and have your own transportation, head to Gideon’s Bakehouse’s East End Market location in Orlando! This location has most of the same delicious treats for little to no wait. Just note that it is located about 30 minutes from Disney World.

As Florida continues to warm up for the summer (or if you’re visiting on a particularly hot winter’s day), you’ll also want to keep in mind that Gideon’s cookies and cakes are meant to be kept in a cooler environment and will melt in the sweltering heat. So, try to pick up your cookies at the end of your visit to Disney Springs so that you can make it back to the hotel to keep them safe. Or, you can always opt to just scarf them down right away!
Of course, we’ll be trying all the latest cookies and cakes so that you know which ones to order when you make it through the long (or short!) line. So far some of our favorites have been the White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut Cookie and the Coffee Cake Cookie. Oh, and we can’t forget to mention HOT COOKIE HOUR! We’ll be back for more soon, so stay tuned to DFB!

We stopped at the East End Market on our way home from Disney and had absolutely no wait. We also had the added benefit of being able to shop at the other boutique shops there that sold other yummy and unique items.

Perhaps it’s partly the advertising hype that makes everyone want to go there but I was in Disney Springs 5 TIMES before I could get in to Gideon’s. One would think they could expand or put in another location in DS.

AND, that was after signing up for the virtual queue to come back and stand in the real queue!!!

I love the East End Market, Lois! That’s where I usually go to pick up my cookies to take home. The other shops in there are wonderful as well.
