One of the BIGGEST Disney events of the year is fast approaching — the 2022 D23 Expo! This event features exclusive panels and events, special merchandise collections, and huge announcements about some of Disney’s current and upcoming projects.
We already know quite a bit about this year’s event — we’ve seen a sneak peek at the merchandise, discovered that Walt Disney’s plane will be in attendance, and learned more about certain events, like the costume contest! But now, we’ve got more MAJOR news about the Expo. Take a look at the presentations that will be featured this year!
The D23 Expo runs from September 9th through the 11th, 2022, in Anaheim, California. When tickets for the event went on sale earlier this year, many of the ticket categories sold out quickly — but there are still some tickets left, so hope is not lost!
Now, D23 has announced some of the biggest presentations that members will be able to watch at this year’s Expo! All of these presentations will take place in “Hall D23,” which has 6,900 seats and is located in Hall D of the Anaheim Convention Center.
Friday, September 9th
Disney100 Kick-Off
Disney100 will kick off on the first day of the D23 Expo as The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100-year anniversary. On Friday, September 9th, at 10:30AM there will be “an epic presentation that includes the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, featuring Disney CEO Bob Chapek.”
Disney has said that, during the Legends Awards Ceremony, “legends will once again honor those visionaries and artists who have made significant contributions to the Disney legacy. Look for the names of the 2022 inductees to be announced in the coming weeks.”
What’s On the Horizon for Disney Entertainment
On Friday at 3:30PM, The Walt Disney Studios is going to give guests “new details, first looks, sneak peeks, surprises, and announcements” about Disney’s upcoming shows and movies. This includes projects from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, and Disney Live Action.
Disney said that “studio heads, filmmakers, and cast members will come together onstage with the inside scoop on some of these studios’ most exciting titles.”
Saturday, September 10th
Marvel and Lucasfilm Sneak Peeks
At 10AM on Saturday, September 10th, representatives from Marvel and Lucasfilm (in addition to filmmakers, celebrities, and some surprise guests) will share details about upcoming movies and shows.
D23 shared that guests will be able to go “behind the scenes of these studios’ highly anticipated films, specials, and series” and see “exclusive footage” as well as “be among the first to learn what’s in the works.”
Disney Branded Television Previews
Disney Branded Television will give guests a sneak peek at some original content coming to Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney Junior. The presentation will take place on Saturday afternoon at 3:30PM.
The presentation will include an “exclusive showcase of upcoming content that will carry on the legacy of excellence in storytelling with a look at the new Disney+ Original series National Treasure, American Born Chinese, and The Santa Clause.”
Sunday, September 11th
Disney Parks Update
At 10:30AM on September 11th, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro will present to attendees about current and upcoming projects in the Disney parks.
D23 describes this as “a look at Disney’s boundless future,” and guests can expect “announcements and updates on the magic happening around the world in parks, on the high seas, at home, and beyond, attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at the big dreams of Disney Imagineers”
Disney Princess — The Concert
