Disney World is full of surprises!
A confusing Genie+ rule was made official, we know some key details about the reimagined Finding Nemo musical as well as the return of Minnie Vans, and we tried some very odd ice cream — that we actually liked! Find out all the unexpected Disney World news right here.
120-Minute Genie+ Rule Made Official
Genie+ is one way to pay to skip the standby line in Disney World — but it comes with lots of rules. It costs $15 per person per day and paying guests are limited to WHEN exactly they can schedule their Lightning Lane reservations. One of the most confusing parts of Genie+ has been the 120-minute rule, which Disney made official for the first time this week.
Guests can begin making Genie+ reservations at 7AM on the day of your visit, but you can only make one reservation at a time. To make a second reservation, you have to wait two hours (or 120 minutes) OR scan into your existing reservation, whichever comes first. The 120-minute countdown begins when the park opens, and it prevents guests with reservations at 8PM from being unable to make any other reservations all day. It’s confusing, but it’s official now!

Showtimes for Reimagined Finding Nemo Musical
Finding Nemo: The Musical is being reimagined in Disney’s Animal Kingdom with a new storyline, sets, music, and more inspired by Finding Dory. Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond! will open on June 13th, and this week Disney released the showtimes!

Fried Chicken and Deviled Egg Ice Cream…Wait, What??
Okay, so we already knew that Salt & Straw would be revealing some extra unique ice cream flavors in June, but we finally got to try them this week — and they were TRULY unexpected. We’re talking fried chicken and deviled egg ice cream. 😳 We ordered a split scoop of Cinnamon and Honey Fried Chicken and Deviled Egg Custard with Smoked Black Tea for $7.45, and we had NO idea what to expect. Could these flavors possibly be good??
Turns out, they ARE good! The Cinnamon and Honey Fried Chicken Ice Cream was the perfect mix of sweet and salty, made with salted vanilla ice cream churned with fresh croissant pieces deep-fried in chicken fat, along with a secret spice blend for some heat. It was incredible.
Next we put on a brave face and tried the Deviled Egg Custard with Smoked Black Tea, which is made with egg yolk custard mixed with Kala Namak black salt and smoked tea-infused shortbread cookies with peach balsamic marshmallow fluff. It was surprisingly refreshing and we were pleasantly surprised!
So yeah, Salt & Straw surprised us with these ice cream flavors that are actually delicious! If you’re an adventurous person, you need to get to Salt & Straw this June to give these a try. And read our FULL review below!

Minnie Vans Return Date
And finally, Minnie Vans have an official return date for Disney World! We’ve been waiting on their return since 2020, although Disney announced not long ago that they planned for Minnie Vans to return this summer. And they will officially be back in Disney World on June 29th, 2022!
Minnie Vans are Lyft-operated rideshare vehicles in Minnie Mouse-inspired designs, and you can purchase your ride through the Lyft app once they return. Of course, you can use a regular rideshare car too, but where’s the fun in that?

Chicken ice cream sounds disgusting. I thought they only did that on Iron Chef because they had no choice.
