The reimagined Finding Nemo Musical debuted in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in June 2022, but it looks like there might be some hiccups with showtimes.
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond tells the story of Finding Nemo from the fish at the Marine Life Institute (which was the setting in Finding Dory), and since its debut, it has had six showtimes per day. But on some days in June we’ve noticed a change.
You can visit Animal Kingdom to see Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond at the Theater in the Wild! This reimagined musical features changes from the original Finding Nemo musical, including a new script, set pieces, and a LED screen background. But don’t worry — original songs like “In the Big Blue World” are still included!
The show soft opened early with six showtimes at 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM, and 4:30PM. While canceled showtimes are not usual in Disney World, we were a little surprised to see not one but TWO showtimes canceled during one of our visits in mid June.
During that trip, Both the 10:30AM and the 4:30PM shows were canceled, which you could see reflected in the My Disney Experience app.
UPDATE: Two showtimes were also canceled for Friday, June 17th. And now it seems more changes have been made.
Showtimes from June 22nd through June 27th are limited to the following: 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 2:30PM, and 3:30PM.
On June 28th, showtimes go back to “normal” with the following showtimes listed on Disney’s website: 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 2:20PM, 3:30PM, and 4:30PM.
Showtimes then change again on June 30th and swap to the following: 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 3PM, 4PM, and 5PM.
But on July 1st, it looks like things change back to 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 2:20PM, 3:30PM, and 4:30PM.
Of course, that’s all subject to change. We’ll continue to check in the coming days and see if more shows are removed from the daily calendar.
If there’s a show you want to catch at Disney World, it’s not a bad idea to prioritize the show early in the day in order to avoid possible canceled showtimes.
We also encourage you to check the My Disney Experience app for current showtimes and to keep an eye out throughout the day for any changes. We can’t say for certain whether The Big Blue…and Beyond may have more canceled showtimes in the future, but we’ll be watching closely for any changes.
The Big Blue…and Beyond is also included in your $15 per day Genie+ purchase, which means you can also reserve a Lightning Lane for a shorter wait time. If the showtime you reserved is canceled, you will likely be able to redeem your Lightning Lane at any eligible Genie+ attraction in the park.
If you’re looking for another show in Animal Kingdom, why not give the Festival of the Lion King a try? Even better, if you visit after July 16th, you can once again see the full show.
We’ll be keeping an eye on Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond showtimes, so keep reading DFB for more Disney news and tips!
