Summer is hitting Disney World, and you know what that means…HEAT.
What do you do when misting fans are sold out, shaded spots are crowded, and air-conditioned areas are full? You grab a cold drink, of course! And to make sure you’re sipping on the best options around the parks, we’re committed to trying all kinds of Disney drinks. Let’s check out a Pirate slushy now!
We found the Desert Pear Lemonade Pirate Slushy over at Tortuga Tavern! It’s not a new item, but we wanted to see how it matches up to all the other cold drinks around Disney World. This drink is lemonade with pear flavoring, and it’s a great option for a hot summer day in Magic Kingdom!
The portion size is pretty big, and it’s also extremely refreshing! We think the kiddos would love this one, mostly due to its bright pink color and sweet flavor. There really isn’t much to dislike about this drink, as it’s a solid, sweet way to cool down.
And rumor has it that this drink is the same as the Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade over at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival! Of course, we had to put this rumor to the test. While it’s similar to the festival’s drink, it’s definitely sweeter and doesn’t have the same strong floral notes. However, if you’re looking for an alternative to the Violet Lemonade, this is pretty close in terms of flavor!

I am interested in this drink and love your report, but the big story here is Tortuga Tavern is open! At least it was recently one day or for a part of one day. I’ve known for years it and Aunt Polly’s only occasionally open (supposedly on the busiest days though not so much even then), but it is still so disappointing to see these restaurants closed. They should always be open when the park is open (or for Polly’s of course when Tom Sawyer Island is open).
