Listen, we’re not ashamed to admit that we’ve had crushes on Disney characters before.
And, how can you not? Disney makes their characters almost picture perfect. From Will Turner to Jessica Rabbit to Flynn Rider, many people (including us!) had childhood crushes on Disney characters, and we don’t blame them! Another fan favorite is definitely Robin Hood (yes, the fox), and now, a very famous actor wants his turn at portraying the legendary hero from Sherwood Forest.
We recently were invited to attend a press conference for Pixar’s upcoming film, Lightyear, where we got to hear from some of the movie’s stars and creators, including Buzz Lightyear himself — Chris Evans!
Chris Evans is swapping out his Captain America uniform for an animated Space Ranger suit to portray Buzz Lightyear as he goes on an adventure to another planet with his robot cat companion, Sox.
We got to hear a LOT about the creation of the film, the story, the cast, and more, which you can read all about right here. But, we also got some insight from Chris Evans about which other Disney character he’d like to play!
When asked which Disney character he’d most like to play next, Evans said “I was always a really big fan of Robin Hood.” Chris Evans as Robin Hood?! We are HERE FOR IT.
He went on to say that he always thought the character was “so cool” and then said “I don’t have that cool British accent, but I would love to give it a crack.” Yeah we would definitely love to see Captain America himself try out a British accent — maybe Peggy Carter can give him some tips? 😉
But for real, stealing from the rich to give to the poor totally seems like the next step for someone who just spent the better part of a decade playing the just and fair Steve Rogers. Disney, please make this happen!
If you want to see Chris Evans in a Disney movie sooner rather than later, you can catch Pixar’s Lightyear in theaters as early as June 16th! Tickets are available online right now.
But, if you’re craving even MORE new Disney content, don’t worry — there is a LOT coming out this year. We have Thor: Love and Thunder coming up, a sequel to Hocus Pocus, and even a live-action remake of Pinocchio!
