If you were just able to get “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” out of your head, then we’re sorry because reading this might put it right back.
When it came out in 2013, Frozen was pretty much immediately a smash hit. It spawned multiple attractions (and merchandise collections) in the Disney theme parks, like ‘For the First Time in Forever’: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Frozen Ever After in EPCOT, an entire LAND in Disneyland Paris, and, of course, Frozen 2.
If you’ve been dreaming of a potential third installation in the franchise, then Idina Menzel is here to give you some hope. In an interview with Shop Today, Menzel said she would be open to making a third movie, according to an article in People.
Idina Menzel is the voice of Elsa, one of the main characters in the movies. Menzel said she wasn’t sure if one would happen, and that there’s nothing in the works (to her knowledge, at least!) yet, but that she would be open to the idea of reprising her role if the opportunity arose.
“Anytime I can be 80 and play a blonde animated girl who is, like, 15 — who has amazing arms, by the way, I love that about her,” she said. The original Frozen spawned a sequel, short films, and even a Broadway show.
Until Disney announces a third movie, we’ll just have to make do with watching the movies over and over again and dreaming that a Frozen-themed land like the one coming to Disneyland Paris will one day make its way to the United States. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news and updates!
