It’s not often that Disney World offers free events, especially not ones that come with character sightings, entertainment, low ride wait times, and snacks.

But that’s exactly what Moonlight Magic is — as long as you’re a Disney Vacation Club member and register for the event, you can attend these after-hours parties free of charge. And now we have the sign-up information you need in order to attend Moonlight Magic at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
The DVC-exclusive Moonlight Magic events returned to Disney World in March of this year, with events at EPCOT. Disney’s Hollywood Studios hosted the after-hours parties in May and June. And now, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is gearing up for a few different Moonlight Magic events in the coming months!

Disney Vacation Club members can register to attend Moonlight Magic for free. They will not be admitted to the event without registering beforehand. If you’re a DVC member looking to spend some extra time in Animal Kingdom, we’ve got all the info you need right here.
Disney Vacation Club
Animal Kingdom’s Moonlight Magic events will take place on July 26th, 2022, August 31st, 2022, and September 28th, 2022. The events typically last a few hours in the evening — the EPCOT Moonlight Magic event that we attended was from 10PM to 1AM. The DVC website doesn’t yet list the specific hours for the Animal Kingdom events.

The registration window opens on June 28th, 2022, at 11AM EST for DVC members with a Disney hotel reservation on the event date. All other DVC members can register beginning July 13th, 2022, at 11AM EST (pending availability).

Here’s how you can register:
- Head to the DVC Moonlight Magic webpage and select “RSVP Online.” Have your DVC member number at hand.
- You’ll be sent to a virtual waiting room, which holds your place in line. Do not refresh the page.
- When your turn arrives, you’ll be sent to the registration form. Fill it out and submit it, and then you’re all set!
At Moonlight Magic events, guests get access to attractions with shorter-than-usual wait times, character sightings, live entertainment, and complimentary snacks and treats. At the EPCOT event, the characters we spotted were pretty rare! We found Pain and Panic from Hercules, the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and more.

So set your alarms for 11AM EST on June 28th (if you have a Disney hotel reservation during the event) or July 13th (for all other DVC members) if you want to attend the Animal Kingdom Moonlight Magic events! Why did you not list under your Moonlight Magic for Animal Kingdom the 3rd date they announced in the Disney Files magazine Spring Issue the date of Sept 28th ? I purposely booked a room so I could get in the que first on June 28th, the date you have on your blog for the registration for DVC members that have booked a Disney hotel? Their magazine better not have been wrong in stating they had a 3rd date on Sept 28th for Animal Kingdom!! Thanks
