What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the perfect treat for a hot day in Disney?
A DOLE Whip from Aloha Isle or ice cream from the Main Street Plaza Ice Cream Parlor may be the first things that come to mind, or maybe the surprisingly refreshing frozen drink we found in Hollywood Studios is what you think of! But if you’re looking for a light and refreshing option that has a bit more substance to it, we may have just found the thing for you in EPCOT!
We stopped by Sunshine Seasons recently and checked out Chef Dee’s Greek Salad, a special item marked for Pride Month. The salad is priced at $8.99 and was unexpectedly a refreshing treat for a hot day in Disney!
Right off the bat, if you’re not a fan of Greek salads, you may want to pass on this one. But if you’re a Greek Salad fan, then get ready to dive into a blend of romaine lettuce, chickpeas, blistered tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, whipped feta, Ladolemono dressing, and pita bread on the side.
If you’re wondering what Ladolemono dressing is, it’s a Greek dressing that has some key ingredients — typically lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and dried oregano.
Honestly, is there anything better than a salad on a hot day? 🥵
(Don’t tell DOLE Whip 🤫)

All of the flavors of this salad mixed very well together and none were too overpowering! The lettuce was cold and crispy, which was SO refreshing to bite into after walking to The Land pavilion in the Florida heat! The cucumbers were also refreshing but they were diced quite small, so you do have to go hunting for them a bit!
The Kalamata olives had a pungent taste to them, but if that’s your thing then you may enjoy them. Our reporter who tried this dish shared that they think black olives may have been a better choice.
The blistered tomatoes had a nice grilled taste to them and were cooked to be more on the mushy side, so just prepare for that texture. The chickpeas and whipped feta give the salad a nice mixture of textures, but we do wish there was even more feta in there (What can we say? We love cheese!).
The Ladolemono dressing had a creamy texture to it and had a strong olive oil taste with a hint of lemon. And finally our pita was more like a soft baguette, and less like a pita. Still totally delicious though! And it was very soft and fluffy.
Overall, if you’re headed over to EPCOT on a hot summer day, and you’re looking for a refreshing snack that isn’t ice cream or a cold drink, this could be just the thing! It’s refreshing but will also give you a bit more substance. So go ahead and stop by Sunshine Seasons and check out this healthy option while it’s available! Don’t worry, we won’t tell Dole Whip that you’re cheating on them too! 😉
And if you’re making your way through more spots in Disney, you can check out Chef Gina’s Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi over at Contempo Cafe in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which Disney says is the other half of this “perfect pair.”
