Sometimes Disney World rides break down.
When they break down and people are on them, those people then need to be evacuated off of the ride, which can make for a really unique experience! We were in the Magic Kingdom one day when we decided to take a spin on a popular Tomorrowland ride, but then it stopped, and we were evacuated. Take a look at what it’s like to be evacuated off of the PeopleMover with us!
We hopped on the PeopleMover to get some views of Tomorrowland and get off our feet for a few minutes.
After making a brief stop near TRON Lightcycle / Run, we started moving again, and even made it inside of the building that houses Space Mountain…but then we stopped again.
Well… we got stopped again on the PeopleMover 👀

We hoped that the ride would start running again and we would be able to complete our trip around Tomorrowland, but unfortunately that was not the case. Cast Members arrived a while later and began evacuating people from the vehicles. We stepped out of the vehicles and were escorted off of the attraction with the help of a Cast Member.
Looks like we’re not going to finish our PeopleMover ride today 😔 pic.twitter.com/iCeGrTu8te

This isn’t the first time the PeopleMover has needed to be evacuated. It stops a lot and encounters a lot of difficulties. While it does have the occasional problem, the PeopleMover is a popular Magic Kingdom ride and offers fantastic views of the new TRON coaster.

Sadly malfunctions with the PeopleMover seem to have been the norm rather than a rarity. Park Ops should be embarrassed. This attraction was closed for a lengthy period of time 2020-2021 in which you would have thought significant work would have occurred which would have resulted in smooth operations for the attraction for many years. Come on Park Ops. Perhaps rather than new projects let’s make the existing ones function properly.
