When the Magical Express (a free service provided by Disney that would take guests to and from Orlando International Airport) ended its service, several options stepped up to fill its place.
The Sunshine Flyer was one of those options. In addition to the Mears Connect buses and rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft, guests can take the Sunshine Flyer directly from Orlando International Airport to Disney World and vice versa. Now, the Sunshine Flyer is offering a special deal on rides to and from Disney World.
In celebration of its first year in operation, Sunshine Flyer will be offering a special deal this summer.
The Sunshine Flyer launched in 2021, and to celebrate almost one year of service, it’s offering a special sale! For all rides booked now through July 31st, children ride for free, and adults are only $16. This special offer applies on all rides booked now through July 31st, even if the ride doesn’t take place in that time frame. If you choose to book the Sunshine Flyer, the bus will pick you up at the airport and then take you to your Disney World hotel, similar to how the Magical Express used to operate.
UPDATE: Sunshine Flyer has extended this deal through Labor Day, which is Monday, September 5th this year.
If you’re booking a trip to Disney World and need to get to your hotel from the airport, you have multiple options available to you. You can book a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft (note that though Minnie Vans have returned, they are not available for rides to or from the airport).
Mears Connect is another option available to you. Mears Connect is another paid bus service, similar to Sunshine Flyer. You also have the standard options like taxi, and car rental available to you at the airport. If you’d like to book a ride on the Sunshine Flyer or on Mears Connect, you can do so at their respective websites.

When I went to WDW a few weeks ago, it didn’t appear that the Sunshine Flyer went to Swan & Dolphin/Swan Reserve (so we used Mears). I guess one could use as a destination Boardwalk or Yacht Club to take advantage of this promotion.

Magical Express was the best, but if you can’t get the best any more, this sounds like a great deal to me. Does anyone know how long an excursion from OIA to Old Key West is time wise…. Does this service take longer, shorter or the same, time wise when compared to The Magical Express…? K

Only if you have kids. Mears Connect has been $16.00 all along. Not any cheaper to get to Disney. Plus, Mears was the provider for The Magical Express.

I just booked round trip rides and it charged me $16 per adult each way, so $32 total per ticket which is the same price that Mears Connect charges. The kids being free still made it a good deal, but I don’t believe this is a sale on the adult ticket prices which the article made it seem like.
