Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will soon see a CHANGE when it comes to one of the ride’s most important elements.
As part of the ride, you go through a highly themed queue, several pre-show areas, and (of course) the coaster itself. While there are a bunch of screens and special effects to look at, one key element to the ride is…the music! Right now, you’ll get a random song during each ride out of a pre-selected playlist. But later this year, Disney will be changing things up in a special way!
According to Disney, during the holiday season, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will sound a little DIFFERENT!
During the holiday period, the Guardians will trade in their typical playlist for a “mash-up of seasonal jams.” Yes, you read that right! In just a few months, you’ll get to blast off to the tune of holiday songs, creating for quite the unique ride experience! We can’t wait to see what songs are featured. Which ones would you want the team to include? Tell us in the comments!
Disney also released this short video of Groot and Rocket getting ready for the holidays in one of the ride vehicles. There’s some holiday music in the background and it sounds vaguely familiar…what song do you think it sounds like? Could this be a clue?!

I still need to ride this. I can’t wait until I get the chance! And now throw Christmas in the “mix”! Heck yea!!!!
Rich says
I always felt that changing the audio programs would be an easy way to refresh rides and create nostalgia. For instance I would have loved to see Walter Cronkite’s original narration for Spaceship Earth being brought back for the 50th anniversary. Even though it wasn’t the actual original narration, I remember it from my childhood and really do miss that “behold the majesty of the Sistine Chapel” part. Now it’s not really even mentioned.

So, I’m thinking some of the great tunes they used for Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights, like Nuttin’ for Christmas by The Plain White T’s.

Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime

The Springsteen version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
DFB Gigi says
That’s my favorite version, James! I would be so happy to hear it!
