The 4th of July is bringing some patriotic experiences to Disney World!
Disney World guests can partake in the festivities by watching “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at Magic Kingdom, snagging patriotic merchandise, or biting into a July 4th-inspired treat! And speaking of treats, we headed over to Magic Kingdom to try a star-spangled dessert!
We strolled right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. to grab the Red Velvet Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom! This patriotic treat has Red Velvet Cookies, Vanilla Ice Cream, and Star Sprinkles!
Talk about patriotic — the Red Velvet Cookies have Vanilla Ice Cream sandwiched in-between to portray red and white stripes, with a sprinkling of red, white, and blue stars for the cherry on top!
But enough about how the treat looks…let’s talk about how it tastes! The cookies were inconsistent in the ice cream sandwich we tried — one was soft and moist, while the other was noticeably crunchier. The ice cream was exactly what we would expect from vanilla ice cream — creamy and rich. This is a decadent treat!
This is a LARGE treat that is a good value for the price of $6.49. As you might imagine, though, it’s a messy one! Having the crunchier cookie also made it more difficult to eat than if both cookies had been the softer texture. Overall, we really enjoyed this! We just suggest that you get it when you have time to sit or stand still to eat — you may find it too messy to enjoy while you’re speed walking to make your next Lightning Lane.
So, if you’re looking for a fun treat to grab for the 4th of July, head over to Magic Kingdom to grab the Red Velvet Cookie Sandwich! in the meantime, take a look at this post to see the other items you can grab for the holiday! Or, if you’re searching for a limited-time piece of patriotic merchandise, check out the 4th of July MagicBand!
If you’re headed to Disney World for the 4th of July weekend and red velvet isn’t your thing, check out this bomb pop slushy in EPCOT, or a Baymax S’mores treat in Disney Springs!
