If you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, you might have collected some special AP merchandise over the years!
Not long ago, Disney released a sparkly Annual Passholder magnet starring Mickey and Minnie, and now there’s a chance to get a NEW Annual Passholder magnet — with this one featuring none other than Orange Bird!
We arrived at Disney Springs today ready to get our magnet (and enjoy some new Flavors of Florida eats!). The Orange Bird Annual Passholder Magnet will be available from July 5th to August 5th, and it’s available via a virtual queue. You can join the queue in the My Disney Experience app or by scanning the QR code available on signs throughout Disney Springs.
In the My Disney Experience app, all you have to do is scroll down the main screen to the Virtual Queue section. It says Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but you can click Join Virtual Queue and select Disney Springs on the next screen.
When you choose Disney Springs, you can join the Annual Passholder Magnet Virtual Queue! You must be within 45 miles of Disney World to join the queue.
We were in! We were given an estimated wait of 130 minutes.
When it’s your time to get your magnet, the My Disney Experience app sends you a notification, and you’re then given a QR code (to be scanned by Cast Members) and a time deadline. We entered the virtual queue around 9:30AM, and we were called back at 10:18AM. That means we had an hour to get in line for our magnet!
When you get called, you can get in a physical line at Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories, although the queue extended all the way to Days of Christmas during our visit.
Part of the line was in the shade…
…but another portion of the line was in bright sunlight, so keep that in mind. It might be a good idea to grab a cold drink before getting in line!
Before entering Wonderful World of Memories, you can choose to have the Cast Member scan the QR code in the app, your MagicBand, or your Annual Pass card. You then wait in another brief line to enter the store, and once you’re inside you must show both your photo ID and your Annual Pass card to get your magnet. Then you can grab your complimentary Orange Bird Magnet, magnet info pamphlet, and the Orange Bird Scavenger Hunt (if you want it!).
The Orange Bird Magnet has Orange Bird bright and center on a blue background. You can actually remove the white parts next to Orange Bird (if you want).
The pamphlet gives you instructions to “bring your magnet to life” by either visiting a website (passholdermagnets.com) or by scanning the QR code in the pamphlet. Through augmented reality, you can use reality lenses and effects to animate your Orange Bird Magnet!
The Orange Bird Scavenger Hunt is free and just for fun! If you want a little challenge, try and find Orange Bird at 10 different locations around Disney Springs.
If you’re looking for other Annual Passholder-exclusive activities around Disney Springs, you’re in luck! From July 5th through August 5th, you can visit The Ganachery for Orange Bird Chocolate Squares, exclusive merchandise at Marketplace Co-Op, special props at Disney PhotoPass Studios, and a Passholder-exclusive drink at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar.
And while you’re wandering around Disney Springs on an epic quest for Orange Birds, you can try a variety of yummy Flavors of Florida menu items around for a limited time!
If you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, you have until August 5th to pick up your very own Orange Bird Magnet! Keep following along with us as we eat our way around Flavors of Florida in Disney Springs!
