It’s a real bummer when you have your heart set on a ride in Disney World and it’s not working properly.
We’ve been evacuated from rides, we’ve seen some rides with technical problems, and we’ve even seen a malfunctioning animatronic replaced with a…plant (yes, we’re serious). Today is no different — a ride in Magic Kingdom is currently down.
If you plan on heading over to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain, you’ll need to know that at the moment, Space Mountain is temporarily closed.
According to Cast Members, Space Mountain was open earlier this morning, but it started having technical difficulties a little later.
We saw on the My Disney Experience app that the ride reopened just a little bit later, however as of 2PM EST, Space Mountain is closed again.
There’s no guarantee of when Space Mountain will reopen — with closures like these, it’s hard to say. But here’s a pro tip: hop on the PeopleMover while Space Mountain is down and you might get to see it with the lights on!
That is pretty much in line with what you should do if a popular ride is down — go ride other attractions and keep your eye on the My Disney Experience app to find out when it reopens. If you catch a ride’s reopening quickly enough, you could get the chance to ride it with a shorter line than usual.
We’ll keep an eye on things, too, and keep you updated so stay tuned to DFB for more!
