There are a LOT of snacks in Disney World.
Weβll admit that while there are plenty of snacks we LOVE, weβve had our fair share of snacks we wouldnβt get again. Itβs also true that new snacks are often brought into the parks, but sometimes that means other snacks have to go. It looks like right now is one of those times β a new snack has debuted in Magic Kingdomβ¦but it may be replacing a DFB favorite.
The Cheshire Cat Tail is a favorite DFB treat in Magic Kingdom. You can get it at the similarly named Cheshire Cafe in Fantasyland.
Itβs a light, flaky chocolate croissant twist with pink and blue frosting normally available for $5.79. But, right now itβs MISSING from the menu.
The Cheshire Cat Paw for $6.29 has replaced the Cheshire Cat Tail β for now. The pastry is very similar β light and flaky, but this new treat has a hazelnut filling. The pink and blue icing has also transferred over to this treat.
Cheshire CafΓ© is currently out of Cheshire Cat Tails πΏ But insteadβ¦they have Cheshire Cat Paws! Itβs basically a bear claw with that traditional pink and purple frosting ππ

We decided we HAD to give this treat a try since the Cheshire Cat Tail is so beloved by our team β but how did it compare?!
OH BOY. This was sent directly from the snack gods. The pastry was buttery and flaky, and there was just enough hazelnut filling that it was nutty and chocolatey without being too overpowering. Honestly, the only negative we see to the Cheshire Cat Paw is that the hazelnut filling means people with nut allergies canβt taste how delicious it is.
It would make a great quick breakfast or treat on the go or just a cheap snack at any time of the day! If youβre looking for something more substantial for breakfast or a heartier snack, weβd probably skip this one. Overall, we canβt say weβre happy that the Cheshire Cat Tail is gone, but if it has to be gone for now β the Cheshire Cat Paw is a worthy replacement!
We donβt know if this treat will be replacing the Cheshire Cat Tail for good, or only for a limited time β so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

Iβm a nut allergy person and cheshire cat tail always looked so good. Iβd be bummed if this was the only option.
So, itβs smaller than the Cheshire Cat Tail, AND more expensive?! Why am I not surprised? I hope they come to their senses and bring the original back.
I might as well cancel my trip. I HATE Nutella. Why not JUST chocolate? I will have to stuff myself with gingerbread shingles at the Grand Floridian to drown my sorrows.
Looks like a Disney version of a Pepperage Farm Popoverβ¦.but a 3 times the price.
Iβll like this but loved that in the tail was an usually good chocolate that seemed to have almost a warm chocolate pudding and fudge mixture along with the chips. Itβs special, and Nutella is good but common.
The most recent tail I had, though, wasnβt so good or fresh.
How does this compare to the Westward Ho bear claw?
I wanted to like the Cheshire Paw, but Iβve tried them on two separate occasions and both times they were stale.
As someone who is not a huge fan of Hazelnut, Iβm disappointed that they replaced the chocolate in this. I was looking forward to trying the tail during my upcoming trip.
