FRENCH FRY FLIGHT. Do we have your attention?
The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival starts on July 14th, and we could not be more excited to taste our way around the various food booths. There are a bunch of returning favorites, like the Noodle Exchange, the Mexico booth, and Flavors from Fire (just to name a few), but right now we’re talking about the only NEW booth at this year’s festival.
That’s right — there’s only one new booth this year at EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival. There are new menu items at a lot of the booths, but only one spot is completely new. That spot is called The Fry Basket, and we’re already drooling just thinking about the menu there.
What can you find at The Fry Basket?
So what’s being served at this new spot? We’ll give you 3 guesses, but you’ll probably only need one. That’s right — this spot’s specialty is FRENCH FRIES. On the menu, you’ll find Adobo Yuca Fries, served with a garlic-cilantro aïoli for $5.50. Those fries are both gluten- and wheat-friendly and plant-based.
But what we’re most excited about is the Fry Flight for $7.50, which comes with the following fries:
- Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries (Plant-based)
- Barbecued Bacon Fries with smoked aïoli
- Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream, and caramel whisky
Although all french fries sound like they’d be plant-based, some of these have toppings or dips that are not plant-based, so watch for the little green symbol to tell you which are OK for the plant-based eaters out there.
We were sold from the moment we heard “French Fry Flight,” and we cannot wait to see if that snack lives up to the hype. But fries aren’t actually the only thing on the menu. You can also find a couple of drinks:
- Salty Dog Cocktail: Boyd & Blair Vodka with grapefruit juice, ginger, simple syrup, and lime with a salted rim (New)– $11.00
- 81Bay Brewing Co. Key Lime Lager (New) – 6 oz. $5.00 / 12 oz. $9.00
What do you think — are you sold on this spot? If you’re ready to plan your visit, you’ll first need to know where to go!
Where can you find the Fry Basket?
Disney announced that this new booth will be located near Test Track in the World Discovery section of EPCOT. Find it near the ride’s exit.
Now you’re all ready to get some delicious fries when this spot opens on July 14th with the rest of the festival! Note that a few other booths will NOT open on that date — some are opening late on August 15th instead.
If you’re getting ready to visit the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, we’d love to help you prepare. We have all kinds of resources, including a free printable Festival map, a free printable list of food booths and menus, and a complete guide for what you’ll need in your park bag.
Follow along with us when the Festival begins on July 14th, because we’ll be there live to bring you reviews of EVERY booth so that you know which eats are worth the cash and stomach space. And don’t forget to check out the new menu items before you visit! Stay tuned with DFB for all the best EPCOT Food & Wine Festival coverage.
