Hello from the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival!
We’ve been eating our way around the festival trying just about everything over the past few days! So far, we’ve tasted items from booths like Earth Eats, Funnel Cake, and Flavors from Fire, but we’re just getting started. So let’s head over to Refreshment Outpost to check out its festival offerings next!
Menu
Refreshment Outpost is one of those underrated booths that we have to tell y’all about. There is usually a smaller menu at this booth.
This year, there’s just the single returning item, but this is also where you can pick up the Corkcicle Classic Tumbler.
Food
The Spicy Githeri for $4.75 is back! This plant-based dish is served with white beans, pigeon peas, Ben’s Original Quinoa & Ancient Grains Medley, and kachumbari slaw. This dish used to be served at the Africa food booth, but it made its way here last year. And yes, it’s plant-based!
We find this to be a super flavorful dish, but you will need to be warned that it can pack a little heat — although the kick of spice wasn’t too strong this year. (Your batch could be different though!)
The quinoa was well-cooked, the texture of the corn and white beans was nice, and the cold slaw provided balance to the warm dish. It was exactly what we were expecting…and hoping for!
Drinks
As we previously mentioned, Refreshment Outpost is where you can go to pick up the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Corkcicle Tumbler for $32.
You can also pick up non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages here from the Outpost’s usual menu, along with hot dogs and Dole Whips. But that is a look at the EPCOT Food & Wine specific menu!
Overall
We’ve continually been pleased with the Spicy Githeri, as well as the other offerings at this booth, so we recommend giving it a try! This booth is a small but mighty contender at this year’s festival!
